Happy they brought back Newton. He fills a niche the team lacks in an oversized PG, so it's smart for them to keep investing in him.
Was a huge fan of Freeman coming out of the draft so glad they could bring him in.
Juzang I didn't think would amount to anything when he was in the draft but he's clearly polished himself into a consistent 3pt shooter with enough other skill offensively that it's worth taking a shot on.

I see all three moves as investment in Rocco. If he pans out, Id expect Marjanovic like career.

I think so, and we should be glad, just so we don't need to read you type JEd. :P

I stopped capitalizing the E. Jed works just fine and is faster to type. Either way, Jed is not NBA worthy. His hands are worse than Rudy’s, his offense is every bit as challenged as Rudy’s, his defense is not even Rudy level in the G, and he cannot stay out of foul trouble. I don’t mind taking a 2 way swing at him last year, but I approve of moving on. Rocco is rougher than Jed, but IMO has a lot more upside.

I don't think I've ever seen that before.

Me either and it's ridiculous. Pohlad probably won't get the 1.5 B he's asking for the team now.

For those wondering, we still have one roster spot (technically two) open, but we will likely have four more names added to the team ahead of training camp. Some of these may be Exhibit 10s, who would likely transfer to Iowa once the season starts.

Although NBA rosters are limited to 15 players during the regular season, teams are allowed to carry up to 21 players during the offseason. Expanded offseason rosters allow clubs to bring in players on contracts that aren’t fully guaranteed, giving those players a chance to earn a regular season roster spot or getting a closer look at them before sending them to their G League affiliate.

In addition to the usual 15-man rosters, NBA teams are permitted to carry up to three players on two-way contracts. Two-way deals essentially give clubs the NBA rights to three extra players, though they often spend much of the season in the G League rather than with the NBA team. While two-way players don’t count toward the 15-man regular season roster limit, they do count toward the 21-man offseason limit.

Over the course of the 2025 offseason and 2025/26 season, we’ll keep tabs on how many players are on each NBA team’s roster, breaking them down into a few groups. Here are the various categories you’ll find in our list:

Minnesota Timberwolves

Official: 13 (13)
Two-way: 3
Reported: 1 (Johnny Juzang)
Total: 17

Reported: These are players whose contract agreements have been reported but haven’t been made official. We’re expecting them to be finalized, though it’s possible that some will fall through or were reported erroneously.
Note: We won’t be listing Exhibit 10/training camp agreements or including them in our roster counts until they’re official.

His rebounding was pretty crazy, led the MAC 4 years in a row. In 23-24, led the entire NCAA.

I can see why they like him. Seems great at doing all the dirty work and is getting comfortable letting it fly from 3. It'll be interesting to see how long he sticks around. If nothing else, he'd be a great practice body for Beringer. He and Rudy will be good examples for setting hard screens and crashing the glass. I wish the highlights showed his defense more b/c I'm curious how well he can defend out on the perimeter.

idk if I was buying a team that's under .500, give me prospects and a clean payroll. Correa at 30+ mil does nothing for me.

This is definitely the thinking. And I bet he's heard the same from whatever limited discussions he's had so far with potential buyers.

At this point I like Freeman more than Miller, we need more high character guys around Beringer

JJ has no guaranteed money, so reported or signed he is not likely to be a main roster wolf. It is a camp deal. I have no issue at all with that type of deal. That said, I do expect Monte Morris to be a wolf before preseason starts.

Interesting. My expected addition is still Bones Hyland.

Correct, I detailed this in the capology thread but I probably should have detailed it here as well.

I think Monte is better, but you are correct that TC tends to make moves that are… unwise, in order to keep undeserving players in the league.

Any new info on Russell W?
I'd rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.

I will go for Brogdon. He brings playmaking and in case Rob or Mike got issues he can help.

Of our realistic rumored signings Brogdon is my favorite.

Whats is biggest difference between Bones Hyland and guys such as Poole, Jalen Green, Anfernee Simons, Cam Thomas in terms of archetype?

P.S. I like Monte Morris as 3rd string PG
