Re: Jets

I'm listening to ESPN and the reports out of camp were not glowing about Fields. I wonder if the Jets should have taken a swing at Shedeur during his free fall?

It's tough to judge because all signs point to a run-heavy offense, and Fields is much more useful as a dual-threat rather than in pure passing situations. The past three practices, his completion percentage is horrifying. But we're also hearing that the O-line is killing it in run blocking and the defense is looking as good as ever. So, the hope is Fields is in a lot of 2nd and 3rd and short situations, just managing the game instead of having the create much.

I'd have like Shedeur any time after he dropped past the second round (we needed Mason Taylor or another receiving weapon too desperately in the second round). But I'm also cool with a tryout for Fields and drafting a QB next season when the team's identity is firmly established. If Fields cliques, we win, and if not, we replace him fast.

The start of the schedule looks like it won't do the new guys any favors.

Yeah that's fair. It's still early for Fields, I just heard someone bring that up and it did make me curious if Jets fans would have taken a flyer on Sanders.

With the RBs and OL the Jets should still be able to move the ball. Not sure what's at WR outside of Garrett.

Lol Fields has always stinked. His training camp performance thus far shouldn’t shock anyone

They got Josh Reynolds and a bunch of WR4's. So not much at all. The best news we've gotten is that Mason Taylor is already looking like a legit receiving threat at TE. But the offense is gonna be pretty hamstrung unless the running game comes up big.

Our second-best receiver is our RB. Our third-best receiver is a rookie TE.

The fact that he hasn't had any work with the first unit and is being sent out there to play reps against possibly an opposing 1st unit for the first several snaps of the game is sketchy. I hope he can play a clean game but I feel like Cleveland is trying to sabotage him.

The rumor is the FO didn't want to draft him, but the owner stepped in and forced them to

Which is like, in the 5th round you're just looking for talent and he was clearly a 1st round talent, him falling that far to begin with was ludicrous, even Malik Willis only fell to the 3rd round, so understandable you'd draft Shedeur in the 5th

The Browns are just a sh*t show though. Especially for QBs, so much of your success depends on where you end up, and Cleveland is one of the worst organizations to be drafted by.

Flacco is the starter and he's old, so he's not going to play in preseason.

Gabriel and Pickett are injured.

Huntley just joined the team.

That's why Shedur is starting.

for the most part he's been practicing with the 2s and 3s, but it's preseason.. most of preseason playtime is going to be with the 2s and 3s lol.

he's getting a shot to start and show out which is something a lot of 5th round rookie QBs don't get a chance to do. people just blowing this out of control cause it's sheduer.

That looks like Richardson didn't adjust his protection because the RB should have engaged with the blitzer instead of running out for a pass.

Did anyone see what happened to that rookie for the Ravens? His leg literally snapped in half. Horrific

Shedeur looks very poised. He's making good decisions with the ball. My one criticism is that I think he's staring down his first option too much. BUT. He gets rid of it instead of taking bad sacks.

He can clearly play at this level, he just needs to be developed
