Jheez what a homer by Lourdes off Mason Miller. Turning around 104mph, some can only dream.

Why didn’t we go after him at the deadline

Because he's trash. Below average defence and his offence is basically replacement level. His .692 OPS would be his career lowest. Lukes has been better than Gurriel on both offence and defence this season. Hell, Varsho in 27 games has provided the same offensive value as Gurriel in 103 games lol.

As a spare right handed bat he can’t be worse than Ty France.

just stopping in to give randle his flowers. I think Varsho may be turning into Chris Davis (2016 version) at the plate, which I can definitely live with.

Only problem is Arizona gave him a bad contract that made him essentially untradeable unless they pick up a lot of it. If not for that, he’d be on another team right now despite having very little value these days.

Lourdes def would have made more sense as RHB platoon over Ty France. Lourdes is a career 300 hitter vs LHP with 800+ OPS. Would have loved to grab him, but yeah, the salary is too high for a specialist on this team.

No chance. Varsho has not been close to getting on base 33% of the time in his career in a season.

Maybe if he gets to play against the Single-A Rockies at Coors field for a full season, he can put up 27 homers and get on base 33% of the times for a full season.

Unsurprisingly, the Jays score the most runs in a game this series when their best catcher plays and their better OFs play.

Only regular “starter” to not hit a home run this series for the Jays? Alejandro Kirk.

Jays are now 3-1 since the Captain's return and 4-2 since MVP Varsho's return. No coincidence there.

Jays won 20-1 without our MVP, what does that mean though?

We would have won 40-1 with Varsho.

Don’t forget our other MVP, Kirk, didn’t play either.

True MVPs can impact the game from the dugout though. We don't win 20-1 without Varsho and Kirk cheering us on from the dugout.

Credit goes to the dynamic duo Ty France and Buddy Kennedy hitting 5th and 6th, before Buddy was pinch hit for later in the game. Solid Right Handed bats acquired by this front office.

Jays 2-0 in games Varsho doesn’t play since he came back. A mere .500 when he plays, no coincidence.

Why can’t we just appreciate Varsho and the value he brings to this team? Watch the Yankees play defense and you’ll no longer take great on field defense for granted
