At least we were able to settle for our 11th choice!
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

nah he's well liked. they don't want to be called associate head coach/lead assistant while the star player's daddy is on the bench undermining that role

Borrego did but they didn’t let him. Can’t assume the other ones we haven’t signed are all Brown’s fault. The Indy guy seems like a legit concern… his family n loyalty to Carlisle.
There’s a lot of things to consider when taking the job. We’re not exactly the top preferred destination for a lot of people, players included… our fans are psychotic n irrational (look at the tweets KAT got after the trade), media is rabid n nasty, ownership and FO kinda have a sleazy n shady rep… no way it’s all on Brown.

I also think we’re just looking for guys in good positions and for the most part when we look at guys in worse positions the teams themselves have stopped it. It doesn’t help that people know they are like the 5th or 6th choice either.

Everyone needs to chill out. When have you ever seen an assistant coach search covered in the media as much as we're seeing with Mike Brown's staff?
This is the NY media and #knicksforclicks again - they're covering everything simply because it's the Knicks, and people will click.
I'm sure other asst. coaching staff searches went exactly like this, but no one knew or cared because it was in Milwaukee or Indiana.

Have our previous coaching searches had as much rejections as this one? Also, fans said we would have our pick of whoever we wanted but that is not the case.

the scarier part is how badly mike browns seemingly needs a good assistant coach to run the offense. thibs had a bunch of nobodys under him without it being a problem.

Actually, I disagree.
Thibs couldn't run an offense and him having a bunch of nobody's under him was a big reason why it was a problem.

Have to imagine that brown and the front office have a finals or bust mandate. Would you uproot your life for a coach that may only be here for a year? It’s a big risk, especially if you’ve got a job for life under Carlisle.
I'm apart of a Knicks podcast! You Should check it out!

Re: Knicks to Hire Mike Brown as Next Head Coach
If only we had a little more cap space for iHart we would have had a championship team last year. Could've, would've.
If we can unleash KAT as a passer, Brown could have more options and sets available to him.
Anyway here's a nice write-uo for our boy iHart. Once a Knick, always a Knick.
Knicks' former starting center named one of NBA's most underrated players

The New York Knicks have established themselves as one of the premier teams in the league, and their former center deserves some credit.
Over the past few years, the Knicks have steadily transformed from a lottery team into a championship contender. Considering the Knicks are set to compete for an NBA title again next season, there isn’t much for the team to regret in recent years.
However, one departure certainly still stings for the Knicks and their fans. In the 2024 offseason, the Knicks lost free agent center Isaiah Hartenstein to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After Hartenstein had spent two seasons in New York breaking out as a legitimate starting center, he left the Big Apple for a big payday. In a recent Bleacher Report article, Dan Favale named Hartenstein as one of the league’s most underrated players, and his time in New York is a great example of his underappreciated impact.
While Hartenstein has since ascended to NBA champion status with the Oklahoma City Thunder, he earned his monster deal last offseason because of his tenure with the Knicks. As an elite rebounder and a solid passing big man, Hartenstein’s value has skyrocketed in recent years as he was finally given time to develop and find a clear role in the NBA.
After some other stops where he was underutilized, Hartenstein found a way to break out under Tom Thibodeau, and his time in New York played a massive part in the Knicks’ ascension to title contention. Although Hartenstein won’t be around next season if the Knicks make the NBA Finals, he could still easily be on the other side of that matchup as he continues to show the world how good he is in Oklahoma City.
