It certainly doesn't feel like the Jays have the most wins in the AL.

Because we can see their run differential.

Probably because we’ve struggled over the past week.

Atleast Im looking right about the Yankees. They were not as good as they showed earlier in the season when they had that big division lead.

Losing the best hitter in baseball hurts the lineup

They were running a losing record for a significant stretch of time even before he got hurt. Bad defense, boneheaded mistakes, and poor pitching is a bigger part of why they collapsed than Judge missing some time.

I know.

But also having Judge in there masks some of those issues...was my point.

At the deadline:

Non Yanks fan: Jake Bird really hasn't been good. Why is he being called a difference maker.

Yanks Fan - Jake Bird has great stuff. Absolute steal will be elite reliever for us. Trust me bro.

5 Days Later - Jake Bird demoted to AAA.

Yankees now only 0.5 game ahead of the Rangers for the final AL Playoff spot.

Tigers and Astros lose. Now 1.5 up on Detroit and 3.5 up on Houston for the first round bye.

That being said the Red Sox are now equal with the Astros at 3.5 back, so it will be just as hard if not harder to win thid division.

8 games ahead for the final wildcard spot (ahead of Rangers and Indians). Indians somehow playing well again -- I guess it helps a bit when your closer isn't wasting one pitch every outing.

I feel 86 wins (or less) will be the number for the final wildcard spot in the AL.

So Jays need to go 18-28 the rest of the way to get to that mark... of course our ambitions should be higher.

Three tough series coming up then three series against teams that are pretty much just running out the clock at this point before a pretty tough final month. 10 of the last 16 games against the Rays and Orioles scares me a bit lol. Even just going .500 the rest of the way would put us above 90 wins though and sets us up pretty well for winning the division.

Red Sox finally lose a game. Winning streak over at 7 and just what the doctor ordered.

Gonna be a tough series vs the Dodgers Kershaw/Snell/Yamamoto is as good as it's gets. Plus 2 lefties so playing Varsho/Barger is gonna be tough. I guess its Ty France time to shine lol their pen is pretty weak tho so getting their starters pitch counts up early will be really important for us to win 2/3 against them.

Honestly France's statcast seems to think he's underperforming his peripherals. His expected hitting numbers are decent. If he hits like his numbers indicate he should, he's not going to be the worst option.
