He hit a upper fastball at 99 Oppo, I think his HR swing is finally back.

I can’t believe that one off the position player in the 9th didn’t go out though. I guess he got under it too much.

That seems to have been his issue, either he would get too under it or too much on top which resulted in a lot of popouts and groundouts. I don't what fixed his swing but since the ASG he's been much better.

918 ops and 322 average as a team is crazy

All that complaining about Vladdy for months, but his statcast page has indicated all year long that his process has been good, that he's been hitting the ball really well, and the results are now finally catching up to it. You cannot have a redder page than he's got, every single thing is between very good to elite. He's got 3.5 fWAR (4bWAR), and he's probably going to have a roughly 5 WAR season.

It's also nice that his hitting process is so solid because even when he underperforms, it's to a very high floor where he's never hurting the team.

Truth is, we’ve been the best offensive team in baseball since the start of May by a significant margin. We have a 124 wRC+ since then, next highest is 111. Only two teams have had a higher wRC+ than 124 for a full season: 2023 Braves (126) and the 1927 Yankees (125).

Side note but I just saw a video with Hoffman signing the contract with his left hand. But throws with his right. Interesting

I'm the same. I'm left handed for writing but right handed sports player.

Springer does the same, if my memory of those Canada Trust commercials is reliable.

How does this work? Wouldn’t you naturally be inclined to throw with your left hand as well.

Same, I think it's pretty common.....I also eat with my left but sports is right hand dominant

it doesn't make sense to me. i've just always thought that if you're dominant enough with a hand to write with it, eat with it, etc that you would also naturally throw with it as well. can you throw with your left or does it feel awkward?

Can't throw with left, it's weak/awkward. I don't know how the cross-dominance works....write with left but use scissors with right. Also use computer mouse with right.

Given that we scored 45 runs think we should let Polo a chance to do a second one. Hopefully he starts it soon.

Hard to believe that at the beginning of the season there was discussion of monthly game threads (which wasn’t unwarranted) and we are now at 20+ page series threads.

Team has certainly captured attention of the City. Not many tickets for next Wednesdays and Thursdays game when i am in town and Jays certainly taking advantage of dynamic pricing.

A lot of that comes from practice and built design. Same reason why so many lefties play guitar/violin/etc right handed.

Most scissors, mice, guitars, etc... are designed for right handed users, so lots of lefties when they first start picking them up, end up having to use the right handed versions. With practice, it just becomes the way you do things.

Pencils are not nearly as handed.
