Not a guard, but a point forward ... is there some kind of three-way framework with Kyle Anderson going to Dallas? I feel like he is a great fit with some of their scoring guards and can kind of fill some of the playmaking from the forward position with Flagg sits.
Team x trades: backup PG, filler, 2nds
in: Gafford
DAL trades: Gafford
in: Anderson, backup PG
UTA trades: Anderson

The best guard Daniel Gafford could return?

Dallas already have washington/martin/naji at the back up forward spots

TBH I don't think Martin is very good and they will have enough minutes to fit Anderson in.

The problem is Anderson isn't likely to more impactful than Gafford and so all you are selling Dallas here is a salary dump, but they could have just not extended him if they wanted his future money off the books. And with all the other options Dallas has for backup forwards and 2nd tier playmakers if they wanted to salary dump Gafford, why wouldn't they just take the filler and the 2nds?
This seems to be believing that Anderson is much higher impact than he's actually been. I don't think he's a better player for a team with two injury prone centers than Gafford, nor more valuable than some 2nds to a team with a bunch of backup quality players already.

Yeah if Boston wants to cut some more salary and address center using Dallas, then they would need to chip in what is needed for Dallas to dump Hardy/Powell elsewhere. As is Dallas needs to clear a roster spot, and now needs to clear a 2nd.
I'd be fine with this if Boston was willing to do that as Simons feels like a superior option to Russell as the Kyrie stopgap. But as proposed it just doesn't work.
