Can I just take a minute to gloat about when of the very few things I was right about? Josh Green. I'm wrong 99 times out of 100 when it comes to basketball, well maybe life too if im honest. But I saw right through Josh Green the moment he was drafted, straight up bum

Sorry.. still disagree here.

It’s not his fault there were better guards around him and Dallas drafted him. He was a late teens pick and plays like one imo. Handful of guys drafted around him probably aren’t in the league anymore..

Also not his fault that Dallas tried to be the smartest one in the room (again) and extend him early..

Those are things to look at Dallas over. Green is still a fine low ceiling 18th pick.

He is injured right now and teams shouldn’t want to commit to his two year salary until you see his shooting.. filler

Agree somewhat, disagree other aspects.

While not his fault, the other guys are much, much better, it is his fault Desmond Bane called him out as a DNP guy and then the next games instead of using it as bulletin board material, he just let Bane treat him as a whipping boy

The contract—oh, he absolutely deserves some hate. If you recall, he had a really good stretch right around the time his draft class was extension eligible, and then after the ink was dry, he went back to being the same old Josh. I don't believe in coincidences.

This one is not his fault, this is the FO, but I hate him as a result. Imagine some of what could have been avoided or done if this team drafted Bane or Maxey instead. Brunson would have likely been traded for assets instead of being lost for nothing. Then no need for Kyrie so they'd still have the 2029 pick. Lots of snow ball what ifs if a FO in Dallas just simply drafted the guy from Dallas or who played at nearby TCU.

Yeah, I can’t disagree with any of that really. Situation would’ve been a lot better with either of the better guards.. Or even IQ.. Or Jaden.. Don’t love the hindsight game, because most the time it could have been better.

But still - a late teens pick turning into a rotation worthy 3/d guy should be a good thing.

I really think Green will be a neutral asset once healthy, just you want to see him shoot and move around court first. Slightly below MLE money for a top 8 rotation piece seems okay. Dallas probably would’ve trimmed 2-4 million a year off by not extending him early though?

And then it would have been a tougher road and maybe they wouldn’t have been able to sign and trade for Klay? And then maybe they keep Grimes instead of him being the cap casualty (assuming they still trade for Grimes?)..

Random rants..

love it charlotte (even though I am pretty interested in what Sion brings to the table) but that is revolting for SAC. I don't really have Martin or Hardy as a positive, and have a really hard time seeing Tidjane Salaun becoming a top 400 player in the nba

The follow up was even better. 2nds + Josh Green. Exchanging a guard/wing for a C makes even more sense.
