The WSJ recently published an article saying that Caitlin Clark's civil rights may have been violated by excessive fouling, and that an investigation should be held.

https://www.wsj.com/opinion/the-wnba-and-caitlin-clarks-civil-rights-basketball-foul-injury-pr-87c61ab4?gaa_at=eafs&gaa_n=ASWzDAjJ3Kq49Z_KD-ZCNQO_f_X9T9KyaAoA9WPjViqOGKabfZ_HbNriIV8Ktq_g19o%3D&gaa_ts=68951162&gaa_sig=khAnxRNnccuoogOaeChksAil8-Iv_c-2oZxOgvXyZhDQKahsDjBZAzSR-ETQyUpPXsXyjsRvEK0xq70YpsOFTg%3D%3D

This of course is patently ridiculous on many levels, not the least of which is that Clark has only been involved in one fracas this season and that was with two white players (Mabrey and Sheldon), so where is the "civil rights" violation?

It's also an example of unintended consequences, because when Charles Barkley sought clicks by attacking WNBA players for how they were treating Cailtin Clark, I don't imagine that he realized that he would be aiding the cause of the guy who wrote that article.

So a group of crypto bros has claimed responsibility for the dildo throwing:

https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/wnba/2025/08/07/wnba-sex-toys-green-dildo-crypto-meme-coin/85551443007/

They sound like idiots, scam artists, some combination of both. Maybe there's a planet on which this makes sense, but I hope it's not this one.

Rupert Murdoch isn't going to pass up an easy money grift.
It's the easiest grift ever. You get ears and eyeballs, and the audience doesn't care if it's true or not. They certainly aren't going to investigate.

Barkley's role is for sure unfortunate. He made a flippant comment, but like the rest of us, I'm sure he had no idea the media machine that was waiting to pounce on this.

Beside the entire premise being utterly ridiculous, the WSJ article is also incredibly dishonest and misleading in it's use of a quote from A'ja Wilson. The quote is, “It boils my blood when people say it’s not about race because it is.” But A'ja was talking about Black players not getting equitable recognition and endorsements. She was definitely NOT commenting on Caitlin Clark being targeted on the court. Here's a more complete version of A'ja's quote (with a link to the source below):

I think it’s a huge thing. I think a lot of people may say it’s not about Black and white, but to me, it is,” Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson said when asked about the race element in Clark’s popularity and before she recently signed two major endorsement deals. “It really is because you can be top notch at what you are as a Black woman, but yet maybe that’s something that people don’t want to see.

“They don’t see it as marketable, so it doesn’t matter how hard I work. It doesn’t matter what we all do as Black women, we’re still going to be swept underneath the rug. That’s why it boils my blood when people say it’s not about race because it is.

The people who complain the most about the race card are those who are most willing to play it.

Not even gonna mince words here, the nazi Trump administration is trying to use Caitlin as a distraction from the fact that the President has ties to Jeffrey Epstein that he is trying to cover up.

And honestly, f*ck Charles and everyone else who tried to drive a racial wedge between CC and the rest of the league. They were being a bunch of misogynist ass holes.

We on this forum all watched All Star Weekend. There is no racial issue or bullying happening. On the court, everyone competes hard. Off the court, it's all love. It's a shame that Charles is too stupid to remember that it was the same way, if not worse, when he was a player in the NBA.

It's rich that a man who threw a person through a window and held Larry Bird so that Dr. J can punch him in the face would even dare chime in and dictate how women should hoop.

F*ck all of these people. F*ck Trump, f*ck the WSJ, f*ck Charles, **** them

Pretty classy move by Plum last night.

Aneesah was in a jump ball with Rickea. Aneesah was having some issues with her hand. When Plum realized how much pain she was in, she committed a jump ball violation so Aneesah could get off the court as fast as possible to get checked out.

And no team wants to see the Sparks in the Playoffs. That offense is on fire, and Brink on defense sends them to a new level.

Rickea is starting to absolutely dominate.
