Stockton said Lebron's titles do not have value because Stockton is jealous, Stockton should shut up

The 89 pistons? With Thomas being an allstar. Dumars being first team all defense (and 17th in MVP voting), and Rodman as the 6th man of the year, all defense first team, and 3rd in DPOY voting. That's the 1 allstar team you came up with?

We'll ignore Laimbeer and Dantley/Aguirre...

Lol brother i watched that team i know how good they were. Its the poster im replying too who thinks they were not stacked with talent.

Gotcha, sorry read that wrong. I was like THAT team? They were loaded lol.

All good! Yea i have no idea where he is getting that the 89 Pistons were not loaded with talent. I tried asking him and im still waiting on an intelligent response.

at this point stuff lebron hears from every corner just rolls off his back. he cares but he don't care if you know what i mean.

that being said, lebron is a very media conscious person and he has always looked for approval. why? cuz that's who he is. part of his whole mission in life has ben to go beyond everyone's expectation and he's been building an empire doing it. to leave a legacy.

SO HE READS THIS STUFF. in fact he can read upside down as i recall.

does it all matter? he has accomplished enough that it doesn't have to matter. but he has been a willing participant in social media so on some level,,,YEAH it does matter. and he is also well versed in basketball/nba history or so they say. if you are that involved, then you CARE what history thinks of you

so stockton and all those guys don't care what you think....but lebron hears it all. and if he HEARS it he cares

People calling out Lebron for stacking the deck/ring chasing/team hopping = whining

Lebron fans complaining nonstop for a decade, including in this thread which has nothing to do with KD, about how KD one-upped Lebron’s unfair superteams with his even more unfair superteam = just calling it like they see it

KD played with two future MVPs and I believe was up 3-1 to the team he ended up joining. There are certainly levels.

And if anybody here was defending KD making those moves, then your comment would be relevant

LeBron could only win when he was on a super team.

Dirk and jokic won a championship with literally no all stars on their team. They earned their championships, LeBron didn’t. He took the easy way.

Dirk probably played with more allstars and talented players than most of his peers. His teams were contenders/psuedo contenders from the word go. He played for a competent organization that constantly surrounded him with elite talent.

Jokic doesn’t win a championship without Murray averaging like 20 and 10 throughout that playoff run
Jason Kidd was roughly 37 or 38 years old when the Mavs won the title. Shawn Marion was around 33 years old and was a journeyman at this point. Dallas gave Marion life again.

Tyson Chandler made one all-star team two YEARS after being a Mav and winning a title.

Peja Stojaković was 33 years old when he was a Mav. He retired after he won the title that season. He hadn't been an all-star since he was 26 years old.

Who is the elite talent that was surrounding Dirk? He had high IQ basketball minds around him that knew their role the year we won the title.

Dallas couldn’t attract elite talent and still can't.

Name all of the allstars that Dirk played with….remember Steve Nash? Who Cuban let sign with Phoenix and he went on to win two league MVPs? Remember the DeAndre Jordan fiasco? The signing of Chandler Parsons? The miss on Giannis in the draft? The Mavs brought in a lot of vets to try and build a contender around Dirk. Some worked and some didnt. But Dirk didnt play with a ton of all stars lol. Marion and Kidd were past their prime. Josh Howard made what? One all star team.

To a large degree I agree except Chandler was definitely at the top of his game in 2011. He was 3rd in dpoy and won it the following year. Dallas was 8th in both ORtg and DRtg that year and the D rating wasn't due to Dirk. They had quality role players at almost every position.

People really trying to devalue stocktons opinion because it disagrees with the narrative they’ve built in their head.

Devalue or disagree? I mean I don't understand why you are on some kind of high horse about people having the audacity to disagree with a former nba player about something. There's literally dozens of ex players giving opinions on the nba on a daily basis nowadays. Not everything they are saying is sacrosanct. I mean look at some of Shaq's opinions for instance...

Stockton’s one of the greatest players and minds in nba history. If dudes on a message board are acting like they are higher authorities on basketball than he is then the burden of proof is on them.

This isn't a technical discussion. The value of a championship is not for Stockton to judge alone.

Here is a also a question. Would Stockton have won if he were playing with Wade and Bosh? I am not so sure.

What proof lol? It's stocktons opinion it isn't based on anything other than what he feels

Shaq is one of the greatest and dominant players in NBA history. Everything Shaq says is valid since he's on that level and people on message boards ain't.

This is a fantastic way to go about things.

Pretty elementary way of looking at things. Shaq obviously says a lot of things for entertainment value, and it’s pretty obvious Stockton’s success was based more on pure bball iq and skill than physical ability in comparison to Shaq.

Stockton had an opinion based on nothing more than what he feels and you're gobbling it up as if it's law.

Shaq does the same thing.

Oscar Robertson said Lebron wass in the goat convo in 2010. Oscar Robertson is one of the greatest players to ever play. Oscar Robertsons word is law.
