Chris Bosh's tenure in Toronto has become supremely underrated

One of the more frustrating narratives of late is the suggestion that the Heatles Big 3 in Miami was not a true superteam because Bosh wasn't a star player.

Chris Bosh was a beast back in Georgia Tech and in Toronto.

He formed a super team in Miami, took a backseat to LeBron, suffered career ending illness -- and his legacy ultimately suffered despite all the winning.

But CB4 was nice as hell.
And he'd thrive in today's game.

How could Bosh drag his team to the playoffs if the East was alleged garbage both those years?

Don't think you'll find many to agree that he wasn't considered a star player in Miami.

He was decent. High efficiency, but less offensive impact than you'd think because he was a slow iso player who wasn't much of a playmaker. Decent rebounder but nothing special. Solid defender. Definitely not a tier-1 player.

He was good, though. Solid pick up in-slot in his draft, for sure.

"Underrated," though? Assuredly not. And the whining from guys like that Apex Jones tweet who don't understand that you can't put three guys together and have them all look like first options remains as stupid as it was in 2011 when people started moaning about it.

LeBron and Bosh fit well together. I would have liked to see them team up with a better-fitting piece than Wade.

Chris Paul would have made sense. Like Wade, there is some ball-handling overlap with LeBron. But, Paul would have been much more capable of utilizing LeBron and Bosh as weapons. And unlike Wade, Paul is an excellent shooter so that helps mesh with LeBron when he has the ball.

But he’s not that guy you want to build around at all though. Dorkus mlorcus. Good enough to get you in the playoffs just to get swept.

No, he was definitely far worse than Embiid. And wasn't better than Towns. Definitely worse than AD (even before defense)...

Bosh did well for them defensively. He was an acceptable stretch big in-era, even though he was crap from 3 for them (even in the corners). Really nice 20-footer, but didn't have the range beyond that. Neither he, nor Wade, were particularly good fits next to Lebron, but made it work. Bosh at least could be the roll man when Lebron was smashing PnR, though.

No, he was definitely far worse than Embiid. And wasn't better than Towns. Definitely worse than AD (even before defense)...

Embiid and Towns both look stiff and awkward compared to Bosh. Bosh has a lot more precise footwork, and a quicker 1st step.

Maybe his PPG would have been better but it’s wrong to say his tenure in Miami hurt his legacy. He just wasn’t a 1A player or anything close to an MVP, dude was a 11 time allstar tho so it’s pretty hard to call that underrated. I think he is rated fine. His game would have got picked apart more if he wasn’t the #3 in Miami.

He wasn't a star player in Miami, neither was Wade after the 1st year.

I think people just remember names and the hype and not how the Heat actually played on the court.

LeBron after the 1st year was doing a massive carry job. He changed his body so he can be the ultimate swiss army knife that could play 1 through 4 and body centers. Wade was down to miss 20 to 30 games a season on his bum knee. Chris Bosh was reduced to a jump shooter because Lebron was that much better at being a power forward.

Chris Bosh main value to the Heat was being able to guard the pick and roll by aggressive hedging and switching.

Chris Bosh is/was an overrated player. He was a good player, yeah, an all-star caliber player, yeah, but a star player? Nah.
