I agree, this Fiba exhibition should be the deciding factor on who’s better. I would argue Norman is better than Jokic as well, 34 points >>>> 23 points.

he played agaisnt a tough opponent team and performed well thats at least encouraging. if the other heat players play as good or similar agaisnt strong opponents is a thing to watch out this post season. fiba is at the end of the month right. it should be exciting to see how they really stack against fellow euro players3ammy3uck3ts wrote:eddieheatfan wrote:i'm more impressed by fontechio than serbian boy. 21 pts is much much better than 9 points. kudos to simonevagelis wrote:Fontecchio seems better than Jovic to me.

The one thing about Jovic is that I im worried he'll never have that in-between/half court game. Like he's great in transition, and pretty effective shooting, but when it comes to the half court when the defense is set he never really seems like the top 1-3 options on whatever team hes on. Like with Jaime or Larrson you know exactly what they can do to attack the mid range or the rim. With Jovic its transition, 3s or the rim if he's already there and he has a miss match. Idk if its because he doesnt have the handle or speed or something to break folks down.

You need a coach that can put you in those positions and Spo has never been that on offense. Every time I hear x player is talented but does he "fit" I want to strangle someone. The coach is supposed to find a role, not everybody is going to be 3 and d. You can't win with 15 3 and d players.

Jovic just turned 22y, Pelle & Jaime are 24.5y, he's still very young

Which is the problem, he's younger and earlier in his growth curve, but he was drafted earlier. Theres less time to figure out if he's gonna stick. And even then you have to figure out if he even fits on the team.

Well here's the thing i doesnt matter if you're talent if you aren't good enough at that thing to be the first option there. Every nba player is the most talented player where ever they came from. But at the NBA level there usually someone even more talented, so you have to fit in a role. Like we know Herro isnt a pg, but is Jovic good enough at playmaking to get main reps there over Herro? That's the question if you want Jovic to be any more than a catch and shoot stretch 4.

Its the Josh Christopher problem, except Jovic seems to actually be able to play a role. Christopher scream overseas star to me now.

We can start by not being the slowest team in the league. It frees up Players to grab the ball and go.

I wonder, does anyone know how our pace was last year compared to the Jimmy era? I think we should have a roster better suited to fast pace, but idk

One thing we don't talk about much is how contract years will impact our team. You often get a players best year when they are up for a new contract, they get in better shape, they seem to put up big numbers. Maybe sometimes to the detriment of the offense though?
But basically everyone other than Bam, maybe Ware, JJJ, Larsson, Kasparas on rookie contracts is showcasing for their next contract.
- Wiggins with his PO
- Herro with his extension looming
- Powell on an expiring at 32 years old, discarded by Clips with an extension looming. Last chance at big money.
- Rozier trying to stay in the league on an expiring
- Fonteccio, Highsmith on expirings
- Jovic up for an extension as an RFA
Interested in how that will all go. A lot of guys might be out to get theirs.

its a good and bad problem as we should get the A game out of everybody regardless if they want to stay with us or get a deal elsewhere. i think we will have a surprise year without the jimmy distraction and more carved out roles for guys. no pressure either and how many national tv games we have? 6 lol

Ive been saying this for a while, none of them get an extension.
If wiggins isnt traded by the deadline, he will opt out.
This is a final trial year for the Bam and Herro duo, with all the expiring contracts, the Heat are positioned to blow it up in 2026, they currently have 60m in expirings, potentially 90 with wiggins trade or opt out.
Bam and Herro are going to have to show theyre worthy of moving forward, that theyre this deadly championship combo, the next Shaq/Kobe, Wade/Bron, Pippen Jordan, hell they have to show theyre up to par with SGAand Jaylen Williams.. if not the Heat moves on, we cant extend Herro and accept mediocrity, we are not the Hornets, Pelicans, Wizards, Hawks..
It is why the Heat were not aggressive in making any moves to add talent other than Powell for 2 contracts. Because whats the use of being a luxury tax team that is fighting at the play in and get historically bounced in the first round
Theyre at a tipping point. Bam and Herro need to show theyre this excellent duo that makes supporting players better than they are, or we are done with this loser experiment.

96.2 (28th of 30) ... the two previous years were 96.2 (29th of 30) & 96.3 (29th of 30)

Heat should explore trading Rozier for Williams if the Bulls are open to it. Williams is not working out in Chicago and he can do much of what Spo wants in a player.
