Dallas-OKC-BRK
I really think OKC should go for it, repeat, 70+ wins, best team of all time. They could REALLY use some depth at the 4, and Chet is always an injury risk. They also save future $ for 2027 and beyond.
Dallas should be competitive, but plan a bit for the future. They could use some more shooting around Flagg/AD
BRK could use some size
OKC sends Dieng to BRK and IJoe/Den 2027 1st (top 5 protected) to Dallas
OKC gets PJ Washington
BRK sends a 2nd (they have a ton) to Dallas
BRK gets Dieng
Dallas sends PJ to OKC
Dallas gets IJoe, the Den 2027 1st and a 2nd from BRK
BRK gets a free look at Dieng. They need some depth at PF, and the kid has some talent
Dallas adds shooting and a pick. They also save $1.5 million, which is more with lower lux tax payments
OKC gets a PERFECT fit for their team. Sure, they probably can't resign him, but they'll have more picks next year and they greatly improve their bench. Joe is solid, but Topic will need some minutes.
SGA/Wallace/Topic
Dort/Caruso/Topic
JWill/Wiggins/KWill
Chet/PJ/KWill
IHart/JWill/Sorber
They still have plenty of future picks to play with as well. They had an awesome year but they still went 7 games twice.

Re: Dallas-OKC-BRK
I'm suggesting more compensation than Denver's '27 1st for Washington, especially something that Dallas can actually use soon, maybe a 26 OKC 1st as well. BKN I put as maybe, because it has too many players right now, so adding a player without sending one or more out forces BKN to waive/trade/release multiple players before the season begins, something to consider.
OKC for my part would say yes to this, and I'm a SEA and OKC fan both, so yeah, that team would love to distribute minutes to a higher ceiling player of Washington Jr and take a key piece from a conference/geographical rival. -- Even if Joe is on a reasonable deal, and he makes shots at a pretty good clip, he was benched a lot for the Playoff rotation. PJ was a staple in Playoff lineups for Dallas and I wouldn't expect that to change should the Mavs make the tourney this season.
That's another reason DAL says no I think.. they are giving the defending champs even more help and no matter what that's a dangerous proposition to make. Mavericks still have a chance to compete for a playoff run as constructed, but they need to see it in action at full strength. The salary could be an issue but if that's really the case, Washington could be well used by other teams. If to OKC, they would need to send a premium, I think. Champs pay double lol So then, the price exceeds OKC's interest, surely. idk sry rambled a bit it's Sunday morning.

If Dallas wanted to make Washington available in trade, then any team hoping to upset OKC should have some interest. PJ has a long history of playing his best against okc

Re: Dallas-OKC-BRK
I think you’d have to find another team than Brooklyn. They’ve got 16 guys (not including Cam).. and most of them are projects Brooklyn liked.. I don’t know if Dieng is worth a second, but don’t think he is worth that to Brooklyn. They have their own very-long forwards to develop.
I think you could make it..
Joe, Dieng, Denver first to Dallas
PJ and Prosper to OKC
Powell and a second to “anyone”
Gives the second apron room and roster spot for Exum.
Keeps OKC under the tax and they can look at a long shot forward prospect..
And someone gets a second for buying out Powell. Or keeps him as a 14th man if they want. He’s good to have around..
But if PJ is willing to sign the extension in a couple weeks when eligible, Dallas shouldn’t consider this.. If PJ refuses to sign the extension, I like it for Dallas. Love having him, but better to get value while you can versus losing him in UFA.

Meh, it's not bad for Brooklyn.
Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

Was just reminded how at the trade deadline last season there were multiple threads about how the Thunder should go for it and get Cam Johnson.

Re: Dallas-OKC-BRK
I don’t think Dieng is returning a real 2nd. Maybe a top 55 protected? Might cost a 2nd or something to dump him completely into cap right now.

It's just for the $ in the deal. Dallas and OKC save $ in this deal. BRK can afford a shot at Dieng-the 2nd is unimportant

Brooklyn doesn’t have the roster spots. And could otherwise sell their cap space, as they’ve done multiple times this offseason. I think they’d deserve payment, and have shown they’d demand it.

Re: Dallas-OKC-BRK
I like Joe okay, but Klay is on the books for 2 more seasons and Christie as well. Not sure how many minutes Dallas can steal playing two of those guys together especially with Russell/Williams getting the PG minutes.
So this is mostly about getting a first for Washington while further clogging the books for a team due to have apron issues for years as is.
Value is fine, but I think its a hard sell for Dallas who still naively believes they can win now.

Re: Dallas-OKC-BRK
Random bad spin off..
Joe and Dieng to Boston
Simons, Hardy, to Brooklyn
Mann, Den first to Dallas
PJ to OKC
Boston gets within one million of the tax and gets a useful shooter, who seems like he could be a good fit.. Dieng will actually get a chance to play this season if he doesn’t look lost.. All they have to do to get under tax is trade a vet min and go back to 14 roster spots. I just didn’t want to pick the wrong vet min…
Dallas gets a better fitting bench piece imo. He’s not as valuable, but he does what Dallas could use.
Brooklyn clears Mann’s third year using their cap space this season.
OKC goes for 70 wins.
And probably seconds to Dallas or Brooklyn? From either Boston or OKC? Or both? Feels like it’s just Dallas owed, but that might just be me being a Dallas fan.

Could work.
Boston and OKC to give seconds to the other 2.
