Why yall surprised  The two best teams in the sorry ass ECF facing each other in the best time for the wide world.

You got the champs vs the future face of the league.

KD vs Bron (also two of the biggest markets)

you have another future face of the league vs the best player in the league

Only problem is Warriors - Mavs but hey, they have another face of the league in steph and possibly another future face of the league in Cooper?

Like NBA has always been about the names, there is no way in hell Imma sit to watch Orlando and Detroit no matter how improved they really are.

The NBA needs to start showcasing a new star now. Otherwise, what will they do when Bron and Steph retire?

The problem is 2 fold. The nba has done a piss poor job elevating new stars but other than Anthony Edwards a lot of the new blood don’t really have larger than life personalities. Shai and Tatum are boring. Jokic doesn’t even really like basketball. Haliburton in his biggest moment decided to rip off Reggie. NBA players need less media training and let their personalities show a little bit.

I think NBA tried to promote the Europeans (Jokic, Luka and Giannis) but the media didn't collaborate. This hasnt been LeBron-Steph-KD league ever since the bubble.

It's really about the population the NBA has to aim at ... people in the USA. Notoriously won't understand the understated genius of Jokic. Hard to see how you could contrive a more media friendly player in european terms - skill of Messi crossed with the charisma of Cantona or Ibrahimović? - and probably much more.

But he's not from the US. So ..... :sparkleshrug:

only one EC game for Christmas is wild, I get its wide open but the scheduling is just lazy.

Cade, Paolo, Trae, all gonna be on solid teams

Split Cleveland and NY

NY vs Atl/Orl/Det (all of these will pull, trae likes to upset us on a random Tuesday)

Cleveland vs Boston (Boston fans will show up for pride)

lol any other retired player would've said that wasn't sh*t, everybody back in their day could've done it, it's a carry, it's a travel, defense is soft, etc.

NBA is the only league with all this negativity from guys who played 20 years ago, any other sport they're all hyping up the guys like KG is doing here.

The only other player that could have done that move outside of Wemby is Hakeem. I appreciate KG's unfiltered takes about the modern game.

This is the stuff that the media needs to call attention to. It's not even just Wemby. There are a lot of players right now who are displaying high skills and aren't getting the same attention as LeBron, Steph, and KD

Not that I watch/listen to a ton of KG’s pod but from the clips I’ve seen he’s def the most complimentary to the modern game and players than any of the other former players. He really loved the knicks team from 2 years ago like everyone else.

It’s not a bad decision to have us face the Cavs on nights 2 but it would have been better to play the pistons.

knicks vs cavs is the only eastern conference matchup the league feels is entertaining enough to garner ratings clearly
