It’s gonna be a rough season for East Coast basketball fans. A lot those 7pm start games are going to be dreadful. I might skip on league pass this year just because of all the injuries & I’m not staying up past midnight to watch west coast games.

Detroit Lions at Minnesota Vikings: 4:30 p.m. ET, Netflix

Denver Broncos at Kansas City Chiefs: 8:15 p.m. ET, Prime Video

NBA Christmas games.
All games on ABC/ESPN

Cleveland Cavaliers at New York Knicks
San Antonio Spurs at Oklahoma City Thunder
Houston Rockets at LA Lakers
Dallas Mavericks at Golden State Warriors
Minnesota Timberwolves at Denver Nuggets

I won't be tempted to watch any NFL that day cause I refuse to pay "even more" to have Netflix and Prime.

There should be an equal amount of east and west games, you can’t complain about nobody caring about the finals if you don’t promote the entire league. Like no **** people tune out when it’s not LeBron or Steph, Silver sucks and NBA marketing is trash.

Pretty sure the league would be fine if the Cavs and Knicks were the only two East teams to get any national games all season.

Should have done Detroit vs someone on Christmas. Milwaukee maybe just because of Giannis

I cancelled Leaugepass towards the end of last season, becasuse they were showing games on ESPN which here in Aus can also be played through Disney or seems to be connected? Anyway ESPN sucks balls, they have black outs during TO's and what not, leaguepass at least you can watch them any time and as many games as possible if you have the right plan ;) I'll sure be sticking with Leaguepass this season

terrible opening night. the league is in serious trouble if they have to showcase 41 year old lebron playing 37 year old curry for the 50th time on opening night.

this was the chance for the league to say "these are the new stars and fans need to get used to it", but no, the league/stern was scared to get piss poor ratings. We saw how awful the ratings for nba finals were and the nba couldn't allow that again.

Also knowing the NBA, they won’t even change a thing. It’s laughable how inflexible the NBA is with the regular season.

name a single ROTY that was must see TV in December

even Wemby was getting bust allegations until he went on a tear in the second half of the season

Paolo had a sick rookie year, wasn't amazing to watch, Luka had a great rookie year, the team sucked so no one really watched that much, KAT same deal.

You'd probably have to go back to LeBron

Lmao, wemby was killing it in December of that year and was the youngest player in nba history to have a 20/20 by the time Xmas rolled around and had multiple 30 point games. And the most blocks per game in decades with 3.8. All in less than 3 months in the NBA.

The schedule indicates the eastern conference is irrelevant.

oh really? where was his Xmas game? By the end of December Wemby was averaging 19-10 on mid efficiency. Obviously he had flashes, but everyone knows the second half of his rookie year is what bumped him up to 22 ppg.

David Stern has been dead since 2020, so he for sure had no say on the 2025 opening night matchups.

There is a disturbing lack of Giannis.

It will be motivation.

How are the Cavs on the road vs the Knicks to open the season AND Christmas day? Shoulda been a split.
