What is so striking to me about Misiorowski's first two months in the bigs is the insane amount of pressure-packed outtings he's had. If he indeed pitches against the Cubs for his next start, that means in two months he's done the following:

-Started against the Cubs, our chief rival in the middle of a tight division race, twice.
-Faced off and beat Paul Skenes.
-Did the same against Clayton frickin' Kershaw.
-Pitched in the all-star game after the controversy that surrounded his addition to the team.
-Started in what would've been the Webb's burger game.

Incredible experience already. He should have nerves of steal in no time.

I'm hearing again about "team streak" that won 13 straight to open the 1987 season. But people forget/don't realize that the next month they lost 12 straight, won 2, lost another 6. So 18 of 20. The winning streak ended against the White Sox. The losing streak ended against the White Sox.

So for those who didn't catch it from the game, they said Chourio is progressing well but they don't want to rush him back from a hamstring injury. He's running about 60% right now. They think it'll be more like end of August than mid August.

Going from a losing record that deep into the season to 49-16 really is insane.

How do you guys see the rotation shaking out for the Cubs series? Whoever starts Sunday won't be available. Quintana is scheduled but maybe he gets pushed back and Myers starts Sunday? It would be tough to do a bullpen game with 19 games in 18 days. W can call up an extra player for the second game on Monday. If Quintana pitches Sunday as scheduled it could be:

Monday day - Peralta
Monday night - Myers
Tuesday - ?
Wednesday - Mis
Thursday - Priester

Missing Woodruff for the Tuesday start. Wouldn't be surprised if they bring up Patrick for that second start on Monday as the extra player, pitched yesterday for Nashville. He has pitched poorly the last couple of starts but has been starting on a regular basis and Myers hasn't had 4 innings since the 4th of July.

How the heck did I forget Woody? Yeah Patrick might be an option. Keep Myers as a multiple inning reliever.

This is for 2026 and beyond and doesn't impact this year at all, but I am always looking at the future...what the hell do they do with Mitchell? With Chourio and Frelick, emergence of Collins, and Perkins playing well, is there a spot for him? Obviously I think he starts in AAA next year after surgery, but if he bounces back and shows good stuff, he has to be traded, right?

I've always been a huge Mitchell fan and it sucks with all of the injuries. Chourio is here for several years, we control Frelick for 4 more years. I'm still dubious about Collins but he's in the mix. You've got Perkins under control for another 4 years. We have some minor leaguers who may or not pan out, some of them current infielders who may be moved. Mitchell has 3 years left under contro.

I don't see a place for Mitchell, even if healthy

Bauers close (don't really need him though). Hoskins could be in Nashville next week

Let Arnold do his thing and target a diamond in the rough with a Mitchell trade or a young lotto ticket guy. On the surface it seems like we wouldn't get much but the lotto ticket thing can work on occasion. We got Freddy for Adam freaking Lind.

Starting Friday you can also pickup a voucher for a free burger in the future if you are unable to go during that specific timeslot
