This guys lack of self awareness is his biggest problem on the court. He jumped on insulting Zach Lowe, because he heard what supposedly Zach Lowe said about consensus on him, obviously guy did not even listen to what Zach Lowe said in 12 minutes on talking on him, because Lowe specifically explain what is consensus and what is his thoughts and how it is different, but this guy jumps and says how he gets double teamed every game and pleads to explain how is he bad if he gets double teamed. Dumbass, you get double teamed because you do not pass the basketball and think you are 40 mil guy... They licking their chops when the ball is in your hands...

Quickley's a very good defensive guard. Herro's clearly better overall.

The only one that's actually comparable is Green who is getting overpaid as a recent high lotto pick (and even then isn't getting $40M/yr). If Cam Thomas was a top-5 pick going into his 2nd contract there's a chance he could be getting $30M/yr but even that's quite optimistic. $20-25M/yr would be more likely.

Without the high lotto pick past causing a team to see upside that probably isn't there he's looking more like MLE ish money.

For you there's at least hope, cause you haven't asked her yet. He should have a good grip on what he'd actually be getting by now.

Funny side note: I went on a date with an US woman who was invited to Sidney Sweeny's wedding in Italy but since it got called off she went on a Euro trip instead. So basically, Sidney Sweeny not getting married led to me getting laid.

You're probably not getting paid on potential when you're an undersized and unathletic 2 guard that can't defend, that would be the case even if he were a top 5 pick.

IF he was lottery pick, for starters, overall opinion on him would be different from the start, and it is hard to shake off predetermined expectations.

But he is absolutely right. As Euro fan, I always also complain how NBA does not explore European FA players at all, they just reuse same players from inside NBA market. And if you were high draft pick, you can suck for years and just keep getting NBA jobs, even after you wash out. When and how you get in the league determines your entire NBA career going forward from there.

Like Jahlil Okafor got back in the NBA, and the guy is terrible even in international Basketball. But hey, he was top 3 pick, NBA GMs know he exist and he got NBA contract against last season... Compare Okafor or Alex Len to Lessort for example, Lessort is 10 times betters than these both guys combined and he never played a single game in the NBA, and Alex Len and Jahlil Okafor are somehow in the NBA in 2025, thats just freaking stupid and lazy. If you didn't crack NBA at the draft, you will likely never play there, but if you cracked NBA at age 18 as top 5 pick, you can suck for 10 years and you will keep getting offers.

Similar is with these contract extensions. People were super high on you 6 years ago, they will still be high on you even after half of your career is already done and you mediocre.

teams will bend over backwards to justify their draft picks even beyond the 7yr statute

She does with that attitude!

Stick with it buddy. Maybe surprise her some time by, e.g., sneaking into her mansion, then strip down naked, shave off all your body hair and rub yourself in peanut butter while waiting for her in her bathtub.

She'll surely appreciate your whimsical side and girls love surprises!

Good luck amigo and let us know how it goes.

The last 2 Cavs RFA way overvalued themselves too. Both signed for much less than they thought they were worth and were eventually traded.

he is certainly worth more than the 14m/2 year that the nets is offering him
maybe he felt insulted? or is this a leak from the nets organization to qualify the low ball offer?

If he goes through with it, you're now an accessory to a felony.

It astounds me that after decades of the NBA caving into players demands and giving them what they want despite the players having very little leverage (where else are they going to go? fernerbache?), teams are suddenly playing hardball and refusing to get taken for a ride every time.

Can't be a coincidence that this shift came along the same time AI became mainstream. this just confirms what some of us suspected all along, NBA GMs and front offices are basically monkeys in suits thats suddenly become competent because they have access to chatgpt now
