- Out: Kuminga (3/63).
- In: Grimes (3/50), 2027 2nd (Best of PHX/GSW), 2028 2nd (GSW).
- Rationale: Gets decent value for Kuminga, bringing in Grimes to compete with Podz in the starting unit, and having two of their 2nd rounders returned. This does make them a bit guard heavy (Curry, Podz, Grimes, Moody, Hield), which means they may not want to sign Melton afterwards.
PHI
- Out: Grimes (3/50), Drummond, 2027 2nd (Best of PHX/GSW), 2 2028 2nds (PHI and GSW).
- In: Kuminga (3/63).
- Rationale: Balances out their young core by obtaining them a young PF with a lot of potential, while keeping them under the tax line. I didn't feel the difference between Grimes and Kuminga warranted a first round pick... but that is obviously one of the sticking points. If the difference is a first, probably the 2028 LAC first is the candidate.
BRK
- Out: Nothing.
- In: Drummond, 2028 2nd (PHI).
- Rationale: Gets them closer to the salary floor for a 2nd round pick with upside.
Notes
- Kuminga's Contract: $20, $21, $22.
- Grimes's Contract: $16, $16.67, $17.33.
- Obviously, both players would need to agree to these contracts.
