Once Tatum tore his achilles, this was always the plan... It's smart business.

KP and Jrue fell off.

Kornet got overpaid. Horford is old and already had a handshake deal with the Warriors.

JD Davidson was a cao casualty, had the order of operations been different, he may still be there.

I don't think they ever planned to roster Niang.

Every move is logical.

Thinking of posting a thread, have an Idea for one

Can any of you here create a starting 5, that would compete for today's game

Rule 1: You can only use one all star from NBA history.

Example, If you going to use Jordan Or Lebron, you can't have anyone else who has played in the allstar game on your starting 5
so you can't have Jordan and Shaq etc as Shaq has also played in the allstar game?

Rule 2. You can choose any players from history, but again only 1 allstar player is on your team.

Let the games begin, It's actually harder then you think
My Go Team
Magic, Jordan, Bird, Duncan, Shaq

My Counter
Stockton, Kobe, Pippen, Rodman, Dirk

Today's Team
Luka, SGA, Tatum, Giannis, Wemby

I made 2 teams, with 6th. man too.

Team A

C. Arvydas Sabonis
PF. Serge Ibaka
SF. LeBron James★
SG. Dražen Petrović
PG. Rod Strickland

6th man. Jason Terry

Team B

C. Marcus Camby
PF. Lamar Odom
SF. Richard Jefferson
SG. Michael Jordan★
PG. Jamal Murray

6th. man. Šarūnas Marčiulionis

Sneaking in two Lithuanians in there, but I do not think they are out of place.

Does anyone understand why they keep throwing dildos on the court? Is there an inside joke?

With they've cut so far, they including the tax burden, they basically cut 300M(!) from their wage bill this season and there are further monetary ramification for future seasons as well

This on a year where they can't contend anyway and honestly KP and Jrue (at this stage of his career and their future window), should and would have been moved anyway, regardsless od Tatum's tragic injury

the optics are just fine and in any event, 300M is alot to write off because of optics

I think most Celtics fans appreciate the moves so far. It’s about getting under the second Apron to avoid harsh penalties that hinder flexibility.
It’s about banners, and with Tatum out it’s not happening this year, so setting up for the future is important and they have done a good job at that.

I'm only a casual UFC fan these days but apparently they are moving from ESPN to Paramount, and getting rid of pay-per-views.

Paramount Skydance on Monday announced a seven-year media rights agreement with TKO Group under which Paramount+ will become the exclusive home of all UFC events in the U.S. — pulling the mixed martial arts events from ESPN. Disney’s ESPN had secured a deal that, starting in 2019, featured the MMA promoter’s matchups on TV and pay-per-view in ESPN+.

Starting in 2026, Paramount will exclusively distribute UFC’s full slate of 13 annual marquee numbered events and 30 Fight Nights via the Paramount+ streaming platform. Select numbered UFC events will be simulcast on CBS, according to the companies.

As part of the agreement, UFC and Paramount will move away from UFC’s existing pay-per-view model — and instead, the events will be available at no additional cost to Paramount+’s U.S. subscribers. This shift in distribution strategy “will unlock greater accessibility and discoverability for sports fans and provide an important catalyst for driving engagement and further subscriber growth for Paramount+,” Paramount said.

I'm a fight fan, so yeah this is newsworthy for me!

Huge news for Paramount (CBS/Skydance). The notable addition here is the removal of PPV. There's been a problem with corralling the PPV market which fluctuates significantly based on the matchup. It makes sense to have fans ... 'pay more annually vs one-time-a-year PPV' as long as Paramount provides every card, because they will likely have more consistent (or growing) audience numbers if the access is connected to their service.

PS- PPVs for UFC are about $80 right now, sometimes you get a 10 dollar discount for pre-purchase. Paramount+ is $92/year and the premium is $120/year. I'm expecting those numbers to go up... ugh. Also will I be able to watch all fights on replay or on demand? That would be a big sticking point for me.

...But will I actually buy another stupid subscription..... remains unanswered.
Cheers
