with everything that has been said about him, he's remains the team's best and most important bat. I'll take a 1B with 900+ OPS even if he doesn't reach 30 homers.

Bo remains the second most important bat to Jays success and playing like it in recent weeks.

Jays have gotten contributions from all sorts of positions, but Vlad has been incredibly consistent throughout the season. He had a slow start in the first month, but his turnaround from May onwards has helped turn the Jays season around. OPS has gone up every month so far.

I would say Springer is not that far off as well. When he's going, it makes a huge impact, and he has that sort of offensive output.

They've been hopeful he'd be cleared for over a week now. Won't be expecting much there.

At least Gimenez is back.

A shame this team had to DFA a solid player with the best name in MLB- Buddy Kennedy. Sad day for the fanbase. At least he left us great memories. He deserves a standing ovation the next time he comes to play at the Rogers Centre.

I did not realise that he was out of options. I assume he's going to accept the assignment though - or does he even have the choice to decline the assignment?

Highly unlikely any other team will pick him up. Most likely Buddy will end up in Buffalo. He will be a great replacement for Bichette in 2026, if Bo signs elsewhere in free agency. Buddy Kennedy will quickly make people forget about Bo, and will be a solid right handed bat in the middle of the order in 2026. His time will come.

Was he batting, running and fielding in those earlier updates from a few days back? It sounds like progress to me, but then again i don’t know if he has been batting and running for a while .. if he has batting and running for a while then I guess it’s no progress.

IMO a lot of the frustration stems from the insanely high expectations we have of Vlad. He was supposed to be a generational hitter aka Ken Griffey Jr, Aaron Judge, etc. The fact is, he is not a generational hitter. He is a post prime Carlos Delgado, which is a really good player, but not an MVP/generation hitter.

Whether or not that is worth 500M with most of them as a signing bonus? That is up for debate.

He’s been reported as doing that the entire time (and presumably failing concussion tests following that activity the entire time as well).

I am serious. Kennedy is a star in the making. Forget the numbers, but look at the intangibles he brings. Just like Randle's hero Mike Trout 2.0 Varsho. Batting Average, OPS, and On Base should be thrown out of the equation when looking at Buddy. Kennedy will make a big impact in 2026.

Fans will quickly forget about Bichette, if Bichette walks. We will see next year when the Chants of "Buddy, Buddy" are heard all over the Rogers Centre. Hopefully another team does not pick up this future star in the making. Sad day to see this guy DFA.

France is ..... not fast.

With 1 out, probably a hold would have made sense.
