Yep, defense was shutting KC down before the injury. This team is cursed

Having said that, I think most fitness experts these days would agree that dynamic stretching before exercise and static stretching after exercise is the preferred approach. Static stretching before exercise has been linked to more injury and reduced performance, though I don't know that the studies have looked at elite athletes.

I am not concerned with the final score of the first preseason game with a bunch of guys who might not even make the team are starting and playing. With preseason all that I look it is how the first team offense and defense are looking while they are out in the field during preseason games. The big concern is the injuries that keep piling up to where they are having trouble with able bodies at practice. Bartch and someone else walked off the fileld yesterday with an injury, Starting to worry Bartch is made of glass and can he be counted on be on the field during practice. WR is also a big concern. JJ has got to heal up.

Connor Colby is practicing with the ones. Supposedly looking good. Hopefully he turns into something

Pinnock was the other. That's a concern. He basically had a starting safety job locked up, and Brown came in and was promptly destroyed by Kittle for three big plays (granted it's Kittle). I don't know what it is about this team, but the fact that they are among the most injured virtually every year suggests it's something about their approach. Kyle has a lot of strengths, but flexibility and a willingness to acknowledge and correct mistakes are not on that list....

I may never get over Greenlaw's torn Achilles from hopping to run on the field in the SB. It was fairly early, but I don't see how we lose that game if he's healthy. He was dominating Kelce. Though I do attribute that one to the NFL making the Niners practice on a ****, too-soft field. One of about eight factors that conspired to cost us a SB we should have won handily. One of the coaches also had a phantom Achilles tear.

That was a real gut punch.

Both Colby and Moss looked good in game one, want to see Moss at C though, not sure why they kicked him out to guard. Zakelj at this point is probably a dead end and the team should not invest more snaps into him.

I literally almost cried. The last time we had played them in the regular season had a similar dynamic where we were really limiting their offense, Greenlaw went down, and they just picked on his replacement the rest of the game.

I was so irritated last year when we cut Kingston to keep Zakelj. Zakelj had shown nothing to that point. Last year he did pretty well pass-blocking, but none of that was in evidence during the game on Saturday. I thought Kingston had starting potential at guard or center.

Good film review of the rookie DTs. LBs and DBs need to clean up their angles on outside runs, but West and Collins both did a good job eating up blockers in the run game.

Andre Dillard to IR. Unbelievable. If Trent goes down, I'm not sure this team can even make the playoffs, much less make any sort of run.

I (kind of) defended the team passing on OTs in the draft. In part because their need was so obvious, teams repeatedly took OTs just before their picks and arguably the value wasn't there (though they didn't seem to care much about value in taking Martin and Stout in the third....). But how do you not at least add one in UDFA? I was calling for them to draft Logan Brown from the fifth round on. Hollin Pierce wasn't a great fit, but he had some potential at least and went to the Eagles, who have a hell of a lot more depth at the position than we do.

Just do ANYTHING to either improve the backups or plan for the future at the position. Ugh.

I'll add that because they have no viable backups and their need is again so obvious, teams are just going to jump ahead of them to take OTs again in the 2026 draft. The Bills did a similar thing with DTs this past year, trading just ahead of us in the second and fourth rounds to address that position before we did.

The failure to address OT (no draft picks on the OT position since 2021, and not even an UDFA since 2022) is just not excusable given that Trent is the oldest OT in the league and misses games every year. It's not excusable, period, in today's NFL given the lack of talent at the position. Teams should constantly be trying to develop guys.

CJ West hyperextended his knee. Same injury as Mykel Williams. Could be a lot worse, but presumably he'll miss a couple weeks. Why can't these guys stay healthy???

After awhile you just shake your head at how ridiculous the injuries are. I dont know that they have gotten through one practice this year without someone getting injured

Ozzy Trapilo was taken 13 picks after Collins in the 2nd and it looks like he might be starting LT for Chicago soon

again, if we get **** this year because of the OL, zero sympathy for Lynch/Shanny.

One article I read said West was rolled up on. If so,just bad luck.
