Mitch still hasn't signed an extension FYI.

If there's a trade it will 100% include him. Maybe they view Simmons as a better non-spacing fit next to KAT than Mitch.

Not that I agree but, I can see the logic in it.

Simmons is about as durable as Mitch is though. No upgrade there.

Dadiet to the Jazz for 3 seconds round picks and then sign another vet?

I believe a cap hit is $2,296,274, so we would have enough room to sign another vet and it would save us a little bit of money next season and significantly more the season after (dadiet is over 5 million at that point).

What about Amir Coffey, guys ?
I will only cherish the wins and ignore everything else, because that's the only way to survive as a Knicks fan.

Knicks should extend Mitch (68/4), trade Kolek for cash considerations and keep Dadiet.

With this move they can add two vets. I like Kolek but he’s never going to play

It would be, if you believe Lee Escobedo. But you have 37 times more posts than he has followers -- barely over 1,000 people follow him. So is he just another wannabe sauce?

Break glass in case of emergency Westbrook has more upside than Simmons. You can trust him as another ball handler, even if he’s more erratic. He’ll also occasionally hit a jumper, which is another thing Ben won’t do. Simmons only advantage is that he’s taller.

Fwiw, one thing Westbrook can provide that neither Simmons or Brogdon can is durability. Those other two are sidelined frequently. Brogdon has only played 63 games over the last two seasons combined, and only surpassed 60 games for the season once in the last six campaigns.

Simmons has positional versatility based on the matchup. Westbrook is better but he's a guard that's treated like a center, where as Simmons is the size of a 4 and can guard most backup centers.

They both have nasty warts, but I'll always trend towards the player that can defend multiple positions if neither can shoot.

Bring back Alexey Shved so we can say Shveddy Balls again. He was actually fun to watch and pretty versatile. One of the lone bright spots in one of our two dismal 17 win seasons. Wow, that seems like a lifetime ago compared to where we are now. We've come a long way, baby!

If the Knicks are going to be a contender under this new CBA they will need to develop their draft picks like Kolek, who will be on small salaries.

We have to give it a shot with Kolek this year in the Cam Payne role.

I don't think it is prudent to try and fill holes with aging, unreliable veterans.
Thank you, Rick Brunson.

If Simmons was just a bad shooter, I’d agree with you but he’s a non shooter. Plus we’ve got a bunch of wings and forwards already. we’ll have Deuce, hart, Mikal, OG, Yabusele, Dadiet, and Kat that can be able to play some 2-4. You can throw in McCullar jr if/when they give him a 2 way contract. We only have Brunson and Clarkson as our only true shot creators. I really don’t trust Kolek as the 3rd shot creator. He can’t really shoot either and might not be an nba player. Rather have Russ get that role.

Would Westbrook and Clarkson both be in the regular rotation or do you see one of them accepting a 3rd string role?
