Re: NBA Opening Night & Christmas Day Schedules Released
I think we should just turn this into the Official NBA Schedule thread. The full slate of games will be released this week, and likely today or tomorrow.

I didn't realize games were streaming exclusively on Peacock and not just NBC...that is disappointing.

Not sure if it's a glitch but all 30 teams play back to back to finish the season, that would be history first right?
Life is beautiful...

Re: NBA Schedule Thread (Opening Night, Christmas, Full Schedule)
Longterm it is a disaster for the NBA. I know they got their money this go around, but when you split audiences, and are absolutely failing at bringing in new fans, marketing the NBA, not just specific teams(brands), the outlook down the road is brutal.azcatz11 wrote:Clav wrote:

Imagine a normal person wants to watch an NBA game. Amazon/peacock/NBC/ESPN/Local/local streaming.
Boxing used to be massive, and its now a forgotten footnote because they eschewed broadcast television. What the NBA needs is a place, that potential new fans can go and watch all games.
This is just ridiculous.

I know I'm a broken record but to watch the NFL all i have is a one time $20 spent at walmart on a digital antenna, everything is free over the airwaves.

Re: NBA Schedule Thread (Opening Night, Christmas, Full Schedule)
Is there clarity on what national platforms will have "exclusivity", similar to how TNT and ABC games couldn't be broadcast locally under the previous deal?
My understanding is that's now ABC and NBC?

I'm with you. I prefer cable anyways and a traditional remote control. I don't like going from streaming service to streaming service.
Peacock is also $15 a month. When you add up everything you need to watch sports it's easily >$100 and that's not even including Netflix.

Which is relatively similar to what cable costs....so really the only thing lost is the seamless integration to change between channels.

ESPN is free? NFL Network is free? And they stream on Prime too.

Re: NBA Schedule Thread (Opening Night, Christmas, Full Schedule)
Thunder, Lakers, Warriors, and Knicks each with 34 nationally televised games.
Lakers have a fairly easy schedule early November through early December. The hardest stretch of games come before and after the ASB which should give this team plenty of time to settle down and maybe rest guys before heading into the playoffs.

The Bengals play on CBS, Fox, NBC (SNF), or ABC (MNF). Their lone Amazon Prime game will be broadcast locally, you guessed it, for free.Klomp wrote:JujitsuFlip wrote:I know I'm a broken record but to watch the NFL all i have is a one time $20 spent at walmart on a digital antenna, everything is free over the airwaves.

I pay $0 to watch the NFL. All those channels are free, broadcasted over the airwaves.

If there are a bunch of injuries, the Lakers are not making the playoffs

And the Suns, Nuggets, Hornets, Sixers, and Wizards all have 16 b2bs. Give the bad teams more b2bs, who cares, but why the Nuggets
The of course the Mavs is +4 here, the reward of trading Luka I guess

The 2005-06 Suns will always have a special place in my heart

Jan 15th will feature 3 German players (Franz, Mo, and Tristan) playing an NBA game in Germany. Going to be fun AS HELL.
