Fwiw, one thing Westbrook can provide that neither Simmons or Brogdon can is durability. Those other two are sidelined frequently. Brogdon has only played 63 games over the last two seasons combined, and only surpassed 60 games for the season once in the last six campaigns.

Brogdon can shoot and handle the ball. I'd rather have 20 games of him when it counts (Playoffs) than 60 of Simmons or Westbrook. (I remember on key Playoff game for OKC where Westbrook lost the ball on turnovers something like 5 times in the last minute or two and they lost by a couple of points. No thanks.)

1. Sign Shamet
2. Trade Kolek or Dadiet for multiple 2nd rounders and use that slot to sign Brogdon or Wright

Drop that crack pipe re Dadiet!
Guy is worth a first easy. We spent a first, he looks very good and is 20.
He gets backup minutes under brown.

Simmons has positional versatility based on the matchup. Westbrook is better but he's a guard that's treated like a center, where as Simmons is the size of a 4 and can guard most backup centers.

They both have nasty warts, but I'll always trend towards the player that can defend multiple positions if neither can shoot.

If Simmons was just a bad shooter, I’d agree with you but he’s a non shooter. Plus we’ve got a bunch of wings and forwards already. we’ll have Deuce, hart, Mikal, OG, Yabusele, Dadiet, and Kat that can be able to play some 2-4. You can throw in McCullar jr if/when they give him a 2 way contract. We only have Brunson and Clarkson as our only true shot creators. I really don’t trust Kolek as the 3rd shot creator. He can’t really shoot either and might not be an nba player. Rather have Russ get that role.

Would Westbrook and Clarkson both be in the regular rotation or do you see one of them accepting a 3rd string role?

I’d prefer Clarkson in the rotation but I’d let them battle it out. Just would be clear with Russ from the start that he’s most likely not in the rotation until an injury happens. If he’s not cool with that, he can go play for the kings and not our title contender.

Probably, we would have to give up a second to dump Dadiet.

Sucks we’ll never bring him over.

Edit: I wish I would have watched this game live cuz it was awesome. Baltics rivals are fun. KP is a monster playing in Eurobasket. Was worried Rokas only went off in the first half but he was very clutch down the stretch and Lithuania doesn’t win without him. Sucks we’ll never him over.

At this point i wish we would just trade him to give him a chance somewhere. Its crazy no NBA team sees a fit for him.

I hear ya mang. Russell has talent and he's versatile, but he's also prone to making boneheaded plays. He'll make a great play and follow it up with something so awful it falls into the comedy category. And some of his three point takes look like somebody throwing a balloon into a hurricane. It appears he has a mental block at times shooting the ball. In his own head overthinking it rather than just letting it happen naturally.

Hart, Mitch, Dadiet and Kolek for Bam. Who says no? :D (Heat maybe?)

https://www.sportingnews.com/ca/nba/new-york-knicks/news/knicks-urged-unite-160-million-5-time-all-defensive-center-jalen-brunson-trade/584124a86aebb8d61866adbc

"I think Bam would be a fantastic fit with the Knicks."

Adebayo's potential basketball fit with New York is undeniable, but the franchise' contractual obligations could muddy discussions regarding a trade with Miami. Even still, a deal is possible.

If the Heat were to conduct talks with the Knicks on a blockbuster Adebayo move, New York would be able to ship out a package consisting of two-way wing Josh Hart, center Mitchell Robinson, and a pair of interesting incoming sophomores Pacôme Dadiet and Tyler Kolek along with draft capital.

Sure, it's a long shot, but the possibility of pairing Towns and Adebayo to create one of the most dominant and versatile frontcourt pairings in the league could interest a team desperate to take the next step and reach the NBA Finals for the first time since 1999.

Bam/KAT/OG/Bridges/Brunson?

I doubt Miami would do it tho

Is Bam really the interior defender that covers for KAT? I get he’s a good defender but I’d he the right kind? Not that the trade happens

I don't actually see that this is possible. Yes, true, trade itself is valid under the CBA rules. However it leaves the Knicks with only 9 on the roster, $4.1m in space under the second apron and the rookie minimum at $1.27m.

(And the Knicks are hard capped at the second apron by the Yabusele signing, I believe )

No way Pat the Rat trades Bam to us. but he is the ideal big man to pair up with KAT. Can guard 1-5 with ease while also can score and playmake. And it would also allow us to play 5 out cause Bam has been shooting 3s. Just can't see Pat trading him to us tho.

How about *at the trade deadline* Bam for Bridges, Mitch and Dadiet? That ought to give the Knicks enough room to sign two pro-rated vet min players to complete the roster after the trade.
