I dont see Santander coming back this year from the looks of it. So I dont think I need to worry about that potential disaster.

Even without either of the FA bats they acquired this offseason , the lineup will be stacked against both lefties and rhps.

Does Popkins deserve a raise?

It also sounds like the plan is to Yesavage available out of the bullpen in September.

I love Barger and he will be an everyday player at some point but he isn’t ready to start against lhp in the playoffs. Check out his splits. We can do better.

Amazingly, the Jays have the best record in the MLB against >500 teams.

It sure doesn't seem like it, but...

Jays have 3rd best record in AL the last 10 games behind only Mariners and Gardians(who shouldn't matter to Jays long term).

So only lost ground to 1 team that really matters.

With the season they are having, I just hope they dont regret not getting another proven closer to go along with Dominguez and Varland in the bullpen. Preferably a 3rd lefty to go with Little and Fluharty.

However, 2 back end arms and a pretty regular bat (..that has flipped the switch since he got here and been outstanding so far when they needed him most) was still solid.

Hopefully Springer can start playing again sooner than later, Bieber can pitch like someone you wouldnt mind starting a playoff game, and Yesavage can be as effective as Fisher has been for them when he gets there.

Blue Jays run differential is+46
Not bad
However we outscore a weak Colorado team
45-6 in that series boost the numbers up.

Hoffman looked pretty damn good this series. Hopefully he has rounded into form at the right time. I was happy to have Varland available behind him if necessary.

The bullpen is stacked now. Dont get me wrong. It can just never be deep enough in Sept/Oct. But they already go 8 deep, and the 8th guy ( Nance) throws 95/96 with a nasty knuckle curve from the right side.

RHPs:
———
Hoffman
Varland
Rodriguez
Fisher
Dominguez
Nance

LHPs:
———
Little
Fluharty

I am just greedy, and another closer quality lefty would have just made it even deeper. Sometimes Little and Fluharty can just struggle to find the zone little. And the pressure is only going up from here.

Blue Jays hitting coach ought to get credit for unlocking the potential from players and creating the best contact hitting team in mlb
