Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported that Miami was willing to send Terry Rozier, Andrew Wiggins, Jaime Jaquez Jr., Haywood Highsmith, and the No. 20 pick in the 2025 NBA Draft in exchange for Kevin Durant and Cody Martin.
“Per Shams, Suns wanted Jaquez, Jovic, Highsmith, 20th pick, and a pick swap — as well as Wiggins/Rozier inclusion."
https://sports.yahoo.com/article/miami-heat-trade-offer-kevin-005603266.htmlWe did the right move here. That offer from the Heat was a garbage offer. Jovic NEEDED to be included in the package, he was a must in any trade conversation with the Heat because they didn't want to trade Ware.
I would have been OK with what we wanted from them:
Wiggins
Jovic
Jaquez
Highsmith
#20
FRP swap
That's a solid package for KD BUT what we got from the Rockets was even better than that IMO.
#10 and 6 (finally) 2nds it's better draft capital than #20 and a swap, not even close.
And then you have Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks who are better than Wiggins and Jovic. But I like Jovic's potential as a starting PF in the league. Jovic's progression is gonna be huge to decide who was right in this "no-trade".
Jaquez is old as a prospect, probably a third string next year and slightly a positive asset. Fleming has bigger upside and a longer cheap contract.
