Nothing really.
Both teams where shooting like crazy. Only diff was that LV was shooting ft's and LT wasnt.
Hard to play 5 out when u dont have cutters.Best PG and SF injured.Too many standing around and doing nothing.
Bertans made 4/4 3s in first half and then was awful after the break as usual.

Latvia vs Lithuania was quite the nailbiter, went to over-time. Both teams *really* wanted to win the match. Of the other matches I've only seen highlights, but looks like Italy vs Argentina would have been a good match to see in full.

Reports on all the friendly matches from yesterday can be read at the Eurbobasket site (short reports on all, starts with a bit longer report on Latvia-Lithuania:
https://www.fiba.basketball/en/events/fiba-eurobasket-2025/news/unbeaten-lithuania-overcome-porzingis-latvia-in-ot-classic
There are three kinds of people: Those who can count, and those who can't.

pretty good odds for Slovenia vs Lithuania today, considering Lithuania on back to back and just played an overtime, tho Lithuania look pretty good so far.

Germany vs Turkey also today, Germany is a favorite understandably, Germany alos look good so far.
Belgium vs Great Britain, always wondered why Great Britain is basketball NT, when in Football, all these countries have their own teams, Maybe they just do not care for Basketball much so have united team...
Also, Portugal vs Iceland today.

I am not familair with that Lomaž guy, but man he impressed. He will play for Neptūnas, so I am pretty exited.

Spain VS France was pretty bad. I known it's early and were missing Wemby and that s quite something (Aldama didn't play either) but France should have crushed this anyway. Wouldn't bet on them to go all the way in the Eurobasket tbh.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

Serbia vs. Czech Republic also today. The winner plays the winner of Germany vs. Turkey tomorrow, it's a little tournament. So we may get a rematch of the 2023 World Cup final.

It's because of when London hosted the Olympics in 2012. FIBA refused to just give them an automatic place as the tournament hosts, because they had such a poor history in the sport.

So FIBA demanded a certain set of criteria that the national team had to meet in terms of actual competitive results.

They did have for example the Welsh, Scottish, and English national teams, but they didn't think they were strong enough to meet any of the criteria. Northern Ireland competes with Ireland.

So they used a combined Great Britain team to qualify and were able to do so.

Luka is not playing so I hope you didn't take odds on Slovenia.

LOL, I didn't, I guess that was the reason for the odds, but I mean, Slovenia is not that terrible (without Doncic), and Lithuania on back to back and not like Lithuania is powerhouse, I just thought odds were pretty good.

That said, Lithuania comfortably leading.

Slovenia is very average with Luka and terrible without him. You should forget second game against Germany, it was more about Germany not taking seriously the game than Slovenia being good. Average Slovenian fan has never seen playing half of Slovenian players that should tell you everything about Slovenia. Coming out of the group is realistic goal for them, everything else is a success.

Lithuania looks pretty bad too, but playing the whole second Q with reserves, so I guess that's ok.

I do not know many Slovenian players, as I only follow NBA and Euroleague these days. But I tried to look at it from this perspective - lots of Lithuanian players also not playing in NBA or Euroleague, and if I wasn't Lithuanian i wouldn't even know them, but some of these players are pretty good, so I tried to give Slovenia the benefit of doubt.

Bruh, Dirk had better FIBA teammates than what Luka has now. This is not good.

I don't know about Lithuanian players, but believe me Slovenian players are not only unknown but also bad.
