Win-Loss Predictions for Every Team After 2025-26 NBA Schedule Release

Dallas Mavericks: 42-40

Over/Under: 40.5

Starting with incoming rookie Cooper Flagg, the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft, there's plenty to like about this overhauled Dallas Mavericks roster.

Pretty much any combination of Flagg, Anthony Davis, P.J. Washington, Dereck Lively II and Daniel Gafford at spots 3 through 5 should give the Mavs an almost nightmarish defense.

And if Flagg takes to the NBA as quickly as he did high-level high school basketball and the ACC, Dallas could clear that over-under by even more than this prediction.

With Kyrie Irving out for at least the first few months of the campaign, though, offense could be awfully difficult to come by. D'Angelo Russell will help. And Flagg was a better playmaker at summer league than many expected.

But the Mavs no longer have the kind of offensive engine that's almost become a prerequisite for title contention.

I think 40 wins is too low.
DLo was unplayable and benched in the PO but he had some pretty good stretches in RS, last year when in LAL he had great net rating playing next to AD.
I think they will be in the high 40s.

Love it. We have good chances to start well, also could be a huge factor for chemistry.

Some interesting takeaway from Dallas schedule:

•The Mavs will play 14 back-to-backs this season. Five of Dallas’ back-to-backs will be played at American Airlines Center and do not require any travel. Five of them begin and end on the road. Two are home-to-road and the other two are road-to-home.

•The Mavs’ longest road trip of the season is six games, spanning from Feb. 7-24, but it’s broken up by the All-Star break. The opponents during that stretch: San Antonio, Phoenix, Los Angeles. They’ll come out of the break and visit Minnesota, Indiana and Brooklyn.

•The second-longest road trip of the season is a five-game East Coast swing from March 3-10, with opponents including Charlotte, Orlando, Boston, Toronto and Atlanta.

•Since the 2025 Mexico City Game is considered a home game for the Pistons, this means the Mavs will not play in Detroit this season. Thanksgiving will also be on the road since they’ll face Luka Doncic and the Los Angeles Lakers for the first time on Nov. 28, which falls on Black Friday.

•The Mavericks have the 10th-most national TV games in the NBA this season with 23 games, including eight on NBC/Peacock, five on Amazon’s Prime Video, five on ESPN, three on ABC and two on Peacock alone.
