Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.6
Ive been critical of spo, and i cant put the blame on him this season. He has got his hands tied to run his offense with a bunch of limited offensive talented players. This is one of the worst rosters he has had to work with offensively in a long time, in an era where teams are averaging 116 points per game. probably the worst offensive talent roster since the 2009 season. Except at least in 2009 you still had Prime Dwyane Wade which is better than anything we have right now combined.
Potentially 90 million in expirings, we are running it back with the same roster that just got historically bounced in the first round, they couldnt score in the first round. Our lone addition is Powell who i like but is that really going to change things, no. Kasparas is going to be in sioux falls.
And without Burks, Robinson our three point shooting will take a hit, in the 3 point era.
Wiggins, we dont even know if he even wants to be here.

I don’t like Jimmy over Zo, at all.
I guess it depends on what you value, Zo was the more decorated regular season player while Jimmy was the far superior postseason performer playing at levels we’ve never seen outside of Wade and LeBron
I could see it close just based on Zo’s first tenure. But Zo came back, accepted a lesser role, and was a major contributor to a championship. For Jimmy to even be equal to Zo for me, he’d have to do something like that, but in reality it’s the opposite, not only do I think he’d never come back in that sort of role, but he went out of his way to burn bridges on his way out.

I’m not so sure on taking a big hit in the 3 point department; if Bam continues improvement there and increases volume, Ware improves, and Fonteccio gets clock that’ll be a big boost to our shooting in addition to the Norman acquisition. Fonteccio can replace Burks shooting (I still wouldn’t mind bringing Burks back) and Norm is an elite shooter.

Haslem should be higher too. Dude put loyalty to the Heat over money at least once in his career

I don't care at all What JB did in the Post season... Everybody cheers him as A great heat player...HE DIDN'T EVEN WIN A RING!!
Everything counts, everything
This is a main example of how screwed up. Heat fans have their priorities ...
I am Also screwed up, maybe because im a heat fan?
All I know is jb maybe get into the top ten, but not top three

Yea it’s tough to choose where UD belongs on the list, he’s not better or more decorated (individual accolade wise) than any of the players on that list but to Miami specifically he has obviously meant a great deal and was a great teammate who won 3 championships here. Longest tenured player ever by a good margin too

Did he really? Dude got paid with interest just in yearly vet min installments. Why do you think we kept him on the team all these years?

Been watching some of Fontechccio in the tournament and there's no way he's getting bought out. He actually looks better then Duncan lol . What we do need to do is free up some SF minutes for him. I could imagine Spo trying to get cute and making him a small ball 4 which I think would be a terrible idea.

Yea that just didn’t seem right to me, we could use the shooting. No need in buying out a cheap expiring contract, find a Terry with a 2nd or 2 trade to shed a little money

Pains me to say it but I still got Tim Hardaway ahead of Bam, unfortunately.
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Damn, salary dumped a top 3 defender on the roster who’s a 40% 3 point shooter.
Let’s see what they follow with

This is a great day. Finally getting rid of the highly overrated and undersized Jagsmith. Very reminiscent to when we finally got rid of Rodney McGruder.

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.6
We are now 4.2 million under the tax line with more then enough money to spend for two vet minimum free agents to fill out the roster. It's the same amount we would have had if we would have bought out and stretched Fontechccio. It was a solid move for a player in Highsmith who was an upcoming free agent and just recently went through meniscus surgery. Sean Marks really did us a solid here

In all seriousness, I can't disagree. Those of us who lived through the late 90s Heat-Knicks rivalry....that's just an emotional attachment that can't be repeated.
Also, no way I'm taking Dragic over Glen Rice. If UD has a place, the OG there is Grant Long, who deserves a shoutout. Thunder Dan was always a fan favorite.
1. Wade
2. Zo
3. Timmy
4. The Mercenary LeBron
5. Butler
6. Bosh
7. Bam
8. Shaq
9. Glen Rice
10. Haslem/G Long/Thunder Dan

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.6
Fully expecting us to sign a front court player any day now. This move was made because an agreement with a free agent is already in place possibly Kai Jones. Terry Rozier will be on the roster for the foreseeable future unless a trade is able to be made using his expiring. I'm not expecting Rozier to finish out the year here as he'll most likely just be bought out at the deadline if a trade is not made.

Yep..you can find and mold those guys in the UDFA pool every summer. Spo just gets too attached at times.
