If he's 16 or 17, still a damn awesome prospect. If he's 20 or more, his ceiling his completely different.

He should be tested seriously before the Draft to know his true age.

Cut off his left leg and count the rings, or how?

I'm not a scientist, but i guess there is tests to at least know if he's closer to 15 than 20.

Google says
To determine biological age, several medical tests can be used, including DNA methylation analysis (epigenetic clocks), telomere length measurement, and phenotypic age calculations. These tests assess different aspects of aging, such as DNA modifications, chromosome end structures, and various biomarkers related to health.

Question is, will he willingly want to do medical tests. My guess is this guy's forgotten in a year or two and will have a career in some obscure league

Nah, he's a legit prospect regardless of age.
Ilyasova or Mutombo back in the day were also much older than their oficial age and still had good carreers

Ilyasov ("Ilyasova")
Mutombo
Olajuwon
Ibaka
Biyombo

They were all surrounded by constant rumors their whole careers that they were actually far older than their oficial NBA listings.

The NBA never sermed to care even one iota about it, and never even showed the slightest interest of actually verifying their real ages and dates of birth.

There are probably more other similar examples.

On the age thing, shouldn't he now want to be listed as older for NBA draft eligibility purposes?

Well the reason players want to be listed as younger when theyre actually older is to dominate competition (imagine being 18 playing against 13 year olds)

Right. But if he's turning into a top prospect even compared to like 17 year olds then I'd think he'd just want to accelerate his draft eligibility.

i just want to say that we need to be careful about this. People dragged thon maker, ibaka and biyombo their whole careers. 2/3 played long enough that it wouldnt make sense for them to be the ages that people were alleging them to be when they were 19(thon probably was lying). just because someone doesnt have documentation, theyre from africa and they are huge. doesnt mean they are lying. They may genuinely not know, or be telling the truth. I saw jalen duren in person at 16 and he looked like a man as well.

Mike Tyson at age 13 and Lee Priest at 16 are examples that come to mind. I agree that these guys are not necessarily lying, it could be that their documented age is wrong or that they are sincerely physical freaks.

That's true, a lot of them are not lying, especially of those who made it to the NBA.

But this one is definitely lying.
