Osceola Magic traded Ethan Thompson and 2nd round pick for Justin Champagnie, and 1st and 2nd round pick. Seems like a good move, he played with Wash last year.

Goga started in Georgia’s 94-89 loss in Poland today. In 19 minutes scored 14 points (5-of-6 FGs, 1-of-2 on 3s).

Yeah it's weird, looking into it it's apparently similar to draft rights. We basically just have his G-League rights now despite the fact that he just signed a four-year contract with the wizards

man, can not feel the vibe on this board at all. Schedule release day today and we don't even have our own thread? We are the sixth shortest odds of winning it all. Guys, come back and talk about it. Haha :D

Boring day at work so playing around with the paid version on CGPT-5.

My question:
Based on the current roster, what is the realistic prediction for the Orlando Magic’s 2025/26 record and their playoff expectations, using the roster alone rather than media hype?

Answer:
Short answer first: 50–32, give or take two games. On roster strength alone they project as a 3–5 seed that should expect to win a first round series. A fair ceiling is the East finals if shooting holds up and health is kind.

Why that number
Last season Orlando finished 41–41 with an elite defence and one of the league’s weakest offences: 27th in offensive rating, 2nd in defensive rating, net rating about zero. That profile is the classic “one shooter away” contender in the East.
Basketball-Reference.com

They went and bought the right skill set. Desmond Bane gives them high volume, high accuracy spacing and secondary creation that they simply did not have. He averaged 19.2 points, 6.1 rebounds and 5.3 assists on 48.4 percent from the field and 39.2 percent from three last season, and arrived in June in a headline trade that cost picks and two rotation guards. Tyus Jones signed in July and brings low mistake table setting with 41 percent three point shooting on good volume last year. Both moves directly address half court offence without sacrificing much defence.

Rotation fit
Starters: Suggs, Bane, Franz Wagner, Banchero, Wendell Carter Jr. Bench, as you noted: Jones, Black, Tristan da Silva, Isaac, Moe Wagner. That group fixes last year’s spacing problem around Banchero and Franz, keeps point of attack defence with Suggs and Isaac, and stabilises the non Banchero minutes with Jones. It is also deeper at wing than a year ago, with da Silva plus internal growth from Black. The only obvious soft spot is centre depth if Carter misses time, although Bitadze and Moe Wagner can cover regular season minutes.
ESPN.com

How that translates to wins
A near zero net rating team that adds first rate shooting and cleaner backup guard play typically gains roughly two net rating points, which lands around 49–52 wins over 82 games. The defensive identity should remain top five, and Bane plus Jones are tidy fits who do not need the ball to add value. With average health for Banchero and Carter, 50–32 is the median outcome.
Basketball-Reference.com

Playoff expectations
With this roster, the baseline is a second round appearance. The half court offence that stalled against Boston should be materially better with Bane’s gravity and Jones’ control, which raises Orlando from “tough out” to “favourite in a 4–5 or 3–6 match up”. They are still a tier below the very top if the opposing star wings are healthy, but they now have a credible path to the East finals in the right bracket.
NBA

Key risks

Health for Banchero, Carter and Isaac.

Late game creation if Banchero is blitzed, which Bane helps but may not fully solve.

Three point volume must rise, not just accuracy.

Bottom line: on roster alone, pencil them in for about 50 wins and a first round series win, with a real chance to play into May if the defence stays elite and the new shooting travels.

I don't think ANYONE here would argue with a single pixel.

Germany-Turkey tipping off now. Franz Wagner starting with Schroder, Obst, Bonga, and Theis. Tristan should come off the bench again. Turkey is starting folks like Sengun, Cedi Osman, and Shane Larkin.

Turkey’s size is a problem. No one can properly guard Sengun.
Franz almost has a full beard going. His dad is sporting a man bun.

Germany down 35-28 at halftime. Franz has 7 points. Tristan hasn’t scored. Ataman is out-coaching Mumbru (no surprise).
