Just looking at his stats, Cutter Coffey seems to be a guy trending in the right direction. After we acquired him from Boston last year, he was assigned to Vancouver, and he struggled. He was assigned to Vancouver again this year, and started slowly in April and May. Through the end of May, his stats were:

.236 AVG
.329 OBP
.338 SLG
.667 OPS
88 wRC+
10.6 BB%
28.2 K%

Since June 1st:

.313 AVG
.394 OBP
.498 SLG
.891 OPS
145 wRC+
11.7 BB%
19.5 K% (down to 15.5% since the start of July)

He only turned 21 a couple months ago.

Another guy in a similar situation is Charles McAdoo in New Hampshire. He reeeeally struggled after we acquired him last year.

And then his numbers in April this year were:

.200 AVG
.259 OBP
.253 SLG
.513 OPS
54 wRC+
7.4 BB%
40.7 K%

May was bad, but not as bad, 91 wRC+; K% down to 29.9%.

But since the start of June:

.284 AVG
.355 OBP
.497 SLG
.852 OPS
148 wRC+
10.0 BB%
23.2 K%

A much smaller sample, but in 10 games so far in August:

.313 AVG
.450 OBP
.594 SLG
1.044 OPS
202 wRC+
20.0 BB%
12.5 K%

So hopefully these guys can continue to trend in the right direction.

A few things:

- I’m kinda surprised the Mariners aren’t #1. They have 9 top 100 prospects.

- The fact that the Dodgers are #1 is crazy, given how stacked their major league team is.

- The Padres are now 30th after being buyers at the deadline.

- We kinda forget that farm systems are simply a tool — and a very inexact science. Two or three years ago the Orioles were said to have, “the greatest farm system of all time”. And now when they should be reaping the rewards for that, they’re in last place, and have a middle of the pack farm system, even after being sellers at the deadline. Heston Kjerstad is 26 years old and has a negative career fWAR. Jordan Westburg is 26 and has been okay. Colton Cowser is 25 and has been very up and down. Coby Mayo is still only 23, but has a -0.7 career fWAR. Grayson Rodriguez is injured like all pitchers. Adley Rutchsman started with two really good seasons, but is now 27 and has regressed the last two years. Jackson Holliday is only 21, but has had an underwhelming start to his career, imo. Gunnar Henderson is a star, and on the whole had an incredible season last year, but the second half of his season was a significant drop off from the first half, and this year he hasn’t put up the same numbers. And, of course, he’s inching closer to free agency/requiring a monster contract from a notoriously cheap organization. Also, they traded Kyle Stowers who has turned into a star.

This would be the allocation money that came with Myles Straw at work.

The media noted, 'Moon Seo-jun is a tall right-handed pitcher at 196 cm, capable of throwing fastballs up to 95 mph (about 153 km). His slider is his most effective weapon, and he also has the talent to throw curves and changeups.'

It also added, 'Currently, Toronto has about $2.1 million remaining in their international signing bonus pool, and if Moon Seo-jun's acquisition is confirmed, about $600,000 will remain. That amount will automatically expire if not spent within the season, so additional signings are expected.'

'Blue Jays Nation' reported, 'Toronto has been uncovering undervalued prospects in the international market and achieving results. Infielder Juan Sanchez, signed for under $1 million, is excelling in the Dominican Summer League with a batting average of .342, an on-base percentage of .446, a slugging percentage of .560, and 7 home runs.'

Anything about this guy? Is he an international top prospect, or just a dude we dumped money on cause our international money was going to expire...
