Kai Jones‘ workout with the Heat on Monday wasn’t just a one-day affair. According to Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald, the free agent center is actually spending four days working out at Kaseya Center this week as the club considers whether to sign him. No decisions have been made yet, but a source tells Jackson that the Heat have “long shown an appreciation” for the former first-rounder’s skill set.

24 year old 6'11 former 1st rd pick who's matured and ready for a second chance. He's a perfect cheap upside play for our backup Center spot.

Cost us next to nothing to trade him now and get under the 3rd year repeater tax penalty (massive hit) vs being taken advantage of by teams looking to capitalize on our desperation to get under the tax the closer we get to the trade deadline.

Barry crying about us now being worse than last season (keep in mind we went through the Jimmy circus & Dudzier) with that move is braindead illogical. We gained Powell and lost Highsmith. I'm pretty confident we win more than 37 games. Even if we are worse, we're not contenders anyway; we don't have budding superstars on the roster and we have Herro & Bam to offer teams for their draft picks + young talent to rebuild.

Im ready. Hes got a top tier skillset for a big. If we can mind meld him maybe we get a decent backup big.

I think we might sign Kai Jones and Dru Smith. I'd leave that 15th spot open, but I'm only a real gm on realgm.

Heat likely will continue pushing a Rozier trade that likely brings in multiple players

Fontecchio played well against Argentina in the last game. Hope he raises his status in the FIBA tournament.

Bam is a near top 10 player and superstar being held back by the scrubs on this roster. But also, if you have any of those expectations of him or that he perform to his max contract, you are being too hard on him. He deserves championships for his play so far, but also the Heat let him down and should trade him to a contender so he can finally win the chips he clearly deserves.

Highsmith was McGruder 2.0. Good on him for carving out a career and making bank, but his time here needed to be done. The injury was the nail in the coffin.

Opens up more time for Niko, Pelle and Jaime and overall that’s a much better place to be investing minutes and opportunities.

I'm surprised Highsmith got traded. I liked him as a player, but I guess at least we won't have to see him as a PF anymore.

And Bam isn't a top 10 player. He's a great player and I think should be a an Allstar every year, but he's the third guy. Maybe the second guy if the first guy is Luka or SGA, but that's not happening.

Reincarnation of Whiteside potentially? Kai Jones-side?

I’ll make a truce and stop the dry sarcasm if you can do the same and just root for our team. Otherwise the sarcasm must continue.
