What seemed like an embarrassment of riches in the rotation is suddenly cause for concern. Henderson, Mis young and out of rhythm, Patrick struggling a bit in AAA, Myers looking totally meh in his return, Quintana giving up a ton of hard contact and looking like a Wolf/Marcum/Garza/Lohse implosion candidate, Cortes traded, Woodruff laboring a bit in his last start... and the offense getting more and more short-staffed every day compounds the problem.

Good thing they don't really need to finish this month strong to stay in a top-2 seed.
Wut we've got here is... faaailure... to communakate.

If we can get out of this inning, I still have confidence in this team

Might've been handy to have Nestor Cortes still on the team to eat some innings for us right about now.

He's still the same guy who can't throw strikes when needed.

I’m serious, I like him, I’m just not sure about his mental makeup and if he’s going to be as good as the hype. Not enough time to know for sure

It's not mental. It's just that when you're his size and you've got longer limbs it's tougher to repeat deliveries. It's why you don't see a history of 6'8" aces despite the physical advantages.

I think he can be awesome but he's not there yet.
