That's the reason I don't see a college Red Zone happening. In the NFL people will tune in for all kinds of reasons. Fantasy, divisions, something to watch at noon and 3:15. Fans of general college football tune in to see upsets and wild things happen at the ends of games. Hell, just this week I rewatched FSU vs Georgia Tech because it was airing on an ESPN channel. Haynes King is a college football legend.

I don't know why CBS or NBC would give that up.

Meh, cheat and write a check. Pretty funny that Harbaugh now has a 14 year show cause penalty.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Yeah, they updated it to "fine" now, but the ESPN headline was originally "Major penalty..." and I was thinking oh snap, here we go. And it was...money. A solid amount of money, but money - for one of the biggest public universities and athletic departments, lol.

For the highlighted reasons, that's why I think there is a market for NFL Red Zone, but not a college version. For example, I don't think your casual Badger fan really cares what Minny or Illinois are doing in their games and they REALLY don't care about SMU vs. GT. The latter has no relevancy to WI unless they are somehow fighting them for a playoff spot, only hardcores play college fantasy, and your casual fan has no clue who is on other college teams except for maybe the Heisman hopefuls. Hell, I bet someone who only watches a handful of Badger games a year can even tell you who their projected starting QB is.

That's ridiculous. 12 is fine. I would accept 16. I'd be happy with 8

Counterpoint, the final four were the 5, 6, 7, and 8 seeds.

Seeding issue not amount of teams issue.

Good. With the SEC going to 9 that should hopefully move the Big Ten towards agreeing to the 5+11 model

The unfortunate scheduling the Badgers did from 2015-2020 (that set up games for 2021-2026) for this era now looks a little less bad. Indiana and the SEC are still the smartest guys in the room until forced otherwise.

Wisconsin's success correlates with beating the **** out of teams with generally inferior talent pipelines/development and when we could get a lot of them on the schedule.

I have no control over the program, but I'd pay actual money to dodge the Alabama game this year and probably the Notre Dame game coming up.

Sure, it's fun as hell when we win - but it almost never happens and generally it's depressing to watch, especially now that being the premier developmental program is not really possible anymore.

I guess the playing field is somewhat even beyond 2025, nationally.
