The total money for the 3 years is less than 8M and most likely the third year is a team option

Thats it??

So predictable

What other teams in the league was thinking lets give dru smith a 3 year deal.. we couldve offered him a job pressure washing the arena sidewalks and he would have signed. The multi years is just another overpay moment

This better be a non guaranteed deal

Nobody lol he would not be in the league if it wasn’t for us, especially after and ACL and Achilles tear

We know how to show loyalty to everybody BUT our franchise GOAT and a top 15-20 player of all time.

That said Brodgon must really be washed if he can't even make it over a guy who has done nothing in the league and also has a bad ACL and Achilles lol

It's probably more about Spo having to have some of his guys on the team. Some scrappy, low talent, developed from nothing in the Heat system types.

Spo has to have a reason to come to work everyday.

According to this guy is a 7.9M deal for the 3 years.

This dude has played a total of 23 games in two years. Might not even be ready to play at the start of the year. And then who knows how long before he tears something else. What are we doing here?
For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

The transition from players that spread the floor for Butler to handle the ball and post up like Duncan, Burks, Highsmith to ball handlers in Powell, Mitchell, Jakucionis and Smith that complement Bam, Ware and Herro. The Heat were depending on Anderson to help with the ball handling last year without Butler.

Signing a guy to a 3 year deal (even if the final year is a team option) who was already a borderline NBA player prior to his Achilles tear is just roster malpractice.

Running a scheme that has 2 point guards on the floor seems to be in the Heats plans

@3hammy I think you might get your wise on a heavy pick n roll offense

Guards - Herro, Powell, Mitchell, Jakucionis and Smith and your favorite Rozier

Hopefully. Even that is just bidding against ourselves, but one year guaranteed at the minimum is not criminal.

Don't you need at least 1 PG in order to run a 2 PG scheme?

Someone bookmark this thread and the previous offseason thread when we blow it up in 2026… everything we have done or lack thereof points to the Heat tanking a season and blowing it up.

This roster screams 2016/17 season.. we will be bad, then make another run, and fall short of playoffs in the end but be just outside of a high probable lottery pick

Hell that was last season too

None of those guys you mentioned are competent enough playmakers to “floor general” that type of offense at a high level, or if they are they haven’t shown it yet. That’s not happening

Pick N Roll Ball Handler
Heat was 15th in frequency
And 16th in possessions
19th in points per possession
