Still feel that if Kuminga comes in, Whitmore should go out as they are very similar players and Whitmore could take Kuminga's role for the Warriors. Would Kispert+Whitmore work financially with the reported 2 years + player option at 25 million/year that Kuminga's camp is presumably willing to take but GS presumably isn't willing to give.

WHY FOR WAS? Player for higher upside in Kuminga.
WHY FOR GSW? Get the young player and 1st rounder that they wanted in return.
Why should a team give up any 1st round pick for the privilege of paying a player who likely isn't even good?

That's the question isn't it. He thinks he's good enough to be getting Cade Cunningham money, GS thinks he should be paid as a reserve forward, RFA status and tight budgets mean no one else is bidding. If the Washington front office believes in his defense, I'd trade Kispert and Cam Whitmore plus the late 1st we have (lowest of OKC, Hou, etc). for him as I don't believe in Cam's defense but others, like Nate, think Whitmore has more potential straight away (better 3 point shooter, etc.) plus we'd be giving up the cap space. In the end, he will either take a lower deal or go with a short term contract/qualifying offer and bet on getting a bigger payday down the road.

I’m still not completely sold on Bilal if I’m being honest. His defense is good but he’s still wiry and really raw offensively; he doesn’t have the natural feel of someone like Whitmore or Kyshawn George. If we could build a package around Kispert+, I wouldn’t mind a year of seeing Kuminga, Bilal, Whitmore, and Kyshawn George splitting minutes at the 3 and 4. Then let’s see who the best and most consistent fits are, and possibly make a consolidation trade like HOU did for a more established player.
