Bears auditioning running backs tonight.

Benedet gets beat and causes an incomplete pass.

Edit: it was ruled a catch and I disagree

For a hot take, Brown visually appears a little more nifty than the starter. Runs one in behind Luther Burden’s block.

You can tell Eberflus is gone just because the Bears actually challenged a spot.

Receivers have been wide open almost every play.

I predicted that the Bears offense is going to struggle for the first half of the season but boy they have some weapons

Booker might be real for real as the 3rd down pass rusher. Consistent in getting pressure this PS. But you want to see it against starters.

only obvious mistake from caleb was dirting the ball on the busted screen to the left. nobody within 15 yards of him and plenty of room to scramble to the right. looked good on the reads and throws though

I thought the same thing on that play. Maybe hes still in training camp mode and he’ll be making that choice to run when hes in season form. Im sure he’ll see it in film.

I want to say that Jones by his own play re-opened his window to keep his job. But have to go back and look for sure. Benedet has a ways to go, even though I think he had better reps after the losses.

Id keep JP Richardson over Tyler Scott if that was ever a question.

Just staying the course for me. Like I always say, never getting too high on the highs or low on the lows.

I think the best takeaways so far are:

1. A competently run offensive system tends to show itself

2. It looks like we are going to have better depth at some positions than we’ve had in years

3. Booker may end up pushing someone as soon as this season at the rate that he’s playing

4. Bagent seems to be firmly locked in as QB2 and rightfully so

Honestly, it seems like every QB that’s played seems to be getting the ball out quickly. I’m not sure if it’s quick developing routes or it just being a matter of coaching. But it’s been nice to see.

"The you haven't seen enough" approach implies as a starting point that all possibilities are similarly equal. The reality is that being viewed as "not draft worthy" is already an absolutely massive amount of evidence that goes well beyond anything you see on the field. Nothing has changed since that point that should change your mind.

It's like buying a power ball ticket, and someone telling you that you probably won't win, then going "well we haven't seen the drawing yet". That's true, and someone will win the powerball occasionally, but we know enough to take a highly confident guess about any individual ticket.

Playing the game itself is way more convincing of what a player has to offer than draft stock. Saying Bagent’s starting chances are like the chance of winning Powerball is about the most definitive extreme hardcore thing I have heard on him.

We’re getting more and more data as I have mentioned that was needed to come to a more reliable opinion of his chances. Although if he’s actually gonna have a starting shot somewhere, there’s not a lot of incentive for Bagent to sign the extension
