2024 Redraft?

Post#1 » by pipfan » Sun Aug 17, 2025 8:18 am

I know it's early, but who goes top 3 if we could redraft last year? It was touted as a terrible draft, but I think there's solid talent here.

Please vote for 3

For me I like Castle, Matas and Sarr/Risacher (not sure which)

I still have no clue who is going to pan out from this draft, but I have a hard time seeing anyone making all NBA team based on 1st year.
Sheppard looked like the best bet before the draft, but he didn't get a real chance, but the way the Rockets are operating, they seem to believe he's a legit rotation guard this year already.
Defense wins draft lotteries!
Fortune favours the bold, so it ducked Nico Harrison.

It's really early, and this is a tough draft to call. I don't have alot of certainty about who the top 3 in a redraft will be yet.

Just Looking through the numbers reminds just how bad that draft class is. I don’t think there is a single star out of the bunch. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see 0 all stars from this class.
It’s Way early to tell of course. Maybe some guys take some big leaps. The top 3 picks look like they have potential but also huge questions. I don’t see stars, I see role players.
Ware looks like the best player so far, with Clingon and Edey behind. Buzelis, Wells, Dunn, Holland Flipowski all look like they will stick in the league. Several others contributed as well. Just too early to tell who sticks. It may have been a deep draft, but lack star quality for sure.

I would be trying to buy low on him. He should be on a team where he can get 30 minutes a night.

If you're buying low why is Houston selling?

How is Reed even in here.

Hopefully the era of the tiny sg that can’t play point is over.

I mean he had a poor rookie season, we're basing this on what the players have shown on an NBA court.

He still goes top 10 in a redraft because of potential

Most rookies have poor rookie seasons.

He was excellent when he got to start, albeit a limited sample size.

Has there never been a zero all star draft? I haven’t done my homework.
The odds are that a couple players take a leap and become all stars but at this point it doesn’t look good.

This was (so far correctly) seen as a weak draft (there are at least 5 players from this draft that would have been a lock to go first overall in 2024) and none of the lottery guys have significantly over or underperformed their slot at this point. So most teams are probably still ok with their pre-draft assessment.

No never. Even the worst ever draft in 2000 has 3 guys make the all star team...

I'm far from high Sheppard, but I expect that he'll have a better career than Castle.

I believe that this draft will continue to disappoint, but that there will be a few all-star appearances. The bigs will be the class of the draft: Edey, Ware, Clingan, Filipowski.
