Think I saw it was an ACL.
That sucks for Terrell, and the team.
ACL tear in a preseason game is just awful luck for him.

Re: Bears 12.0
Does anyone know if the Bears are considering Luther Burden on kickoff returns? Feel like he would be amazing there with new rules. I saw somewhere he was part of conversation for punt return, but not sure about kickoff.

Realistically, what would it take for you to trade Bagent? Remember, a quality back up isn’t easy. But he could probably start for at least 1-2 teams right now lol

That's a tough question. If Caleb goes down, how confident do they feel in Kase Keenum? And if a team trading for him wants him as a possible starter, how much does a marginal starting QB go for in the NFL these days? A protected first? I'd think at least a second. But more importantly, how much is Tyson worth to the Bears? If Caleb gets hurt, having Tyson there might mean the whole season isn't a waste- he's trained in their system and could step in right away. Could Kase do the same? Only the coaches who see them in practice every day could answer that.
I think back to the Steve Fuller/Jim McMahon situation- Fuller filled in very nicely while Jim was out, although he didn't make the same impact as McMahon could when healthy. It's yet to be seen if Tyson can do that, of course.

Re: Bears 12.0
I read that Justin Fields had a lousy stint this weekend:
"The passer completed just 1-of-5 passes for 4 yards and ended with a 39.6 passer rating. Fields threw several inaccurate passes and failed to hit wide-open targets a couple of times."

Re: Bears 12.0
there was an article in the athletic about how fields basically isn't throwing the ball downfield at all in camp or during the preseason games. seems like the jets are leaning hard into Embracing The Run but also, dude is what he is at this point

2nd round pick you gotta do it. Kudos to Poles he crushed it with Bagent.

Why would a team give up a 2nd for him at this point? Also if Bagent really wants to start why would he stay here after this season?

Because they need a QB right away and they think he could possibly be the answer?

A team like Indianapolis might think it has a decent roster but no viable QB. I could see them doing this sort of thing, and the Bears should be pretty interested in doing it if they think Bagent is likely to walk and go someplace where he can at least compete for a starting gig.
Turning an UDFA into a 2nd would be a pretty nice piece of business.

So you're going to give up a 2nd rounder for someone who has to come in and learn the offense, spend the season auditioning and building chemistry, and then could possibly sign with someone else after the season? I dunno....

Re: Bears 12.0
fair to speculate about bagent's trade value, but fwiw i am pretty sure that "polymarket football" post about teams calling us is just straight-up made up
i would definitely trade bagent for a day 2 pick, but i have a hard time imagining anyone would actually give that up for him. might be worth considering moving him for a 4th next offseason when you have the ability to replace him with a solid FA backup
bagent is gonna be an RFA, so you'd control his rights for at least one more year after this one

That's what I'm saying, he'll walk someplace. The Colts are better off keeping their picks, give who they have an opportunity, and target Bagent after the season.

That polymarket is an engagement baiter.

If you're willing to give Bagent the starting job for the foreseeable future, then the risk of him walking is probably not that great.

I dont see any teams out there willing to do that at this point. Not for a 2nd rounder. I mean I'll be happy to be wrong.

Yeah, I didn't propose a 2nd. I doubt you do better than a 3rd. But I'd jump at a 2nd if available.

Re: Bears 12.0
Bears might as well keep Bagent this season. Nobody will be offering any kind of meaningful pick and if Williams were to get hurt, a Brock Purdy situation is a slim-but-not-zero possibility.
