Yankees win 3 games so they could drop 5 of the next 6.

What's everyone's thoughts on the realignment incoming?

Basically the AL and NL will no longer exist and everything will be split into regional divisions.

I wouldn't mind Yankees and Mets being in the same division. It would make the feud between the fanbases even nastier

You'd rather keep the traditional leagues?

I kind of like the idea of mixing things up. I'm not sure how this all works but having to clash against the Mets while still maintaining the rivalry of Boston/NY seems fun. I saw projections showing that Baltimore would not be in the east anymore though, which I'm not a fan of.

Why is it even up for discussion? Where's the money grab angle? What's wrong with the way things have always been? I haven't looked into at all.

MLB is going to expand the league with two new teams and Manfred stated that with that will come a realignment. The rumor is that the AL and NL will become defunct in favor of regional conferences, for example, the Yankees, Mets, Red Sox, and Phillies would form a 4 team Eastern division, which would be insanely competitive. I wouldn't mind it.

The Rays, Braves, Orioles and Nationals would form a Southeastern division

So on and so forth.

Then what? Whatever. Keep changing everything around. Ghost runner in extras. Pitch clocks. Topedo bats. Might as well just watch the banana league.

Manfred doesn't care shat about the game. His goal is to put the money spenders in the same division so that the non-money spenders don't feel bad. Manfred has basically made a career out of protecting the Athletics and Pirates owners.

As Yankees fans, we should be worried about this...Hal really does not want to be a division with the Mets and Phillies. He benefits a lot from non-spenders, especially in a weak AL. We would be 3rd or 4th, depending on how bad the Red Sox can eff up. I don't think Hal would stand for it, tbh. He wants to coast too.

I don't like the ghost runner in extra innings either.

The pitch clock is a good thing. We don't need 4 hour baseball games. I don't need to see dudes spitting on the dirt and scratching their balls. The current game is much better.

That being said, I favor realignment. I think at least in the Yankees regional area we can engage in a lot of competition. Hal will need to spend money wisely.

I enjoyed 4 hour baseball games. It's not much better at all. It's just much quicker.

Right.

I want us in the same division as the big spenders for this very reason. If Hal doesn't want to invest in the team to keep up, then he should sell.

I didn't mind the long games either, i grew up watching lengthy games on WPIX ("Hello, Phil Rizzuto here") but I like current pace. Again. Less ball scratching and spitting, more hitting and pitching

Thank God Boone brought in Weaver. I was scared we’d see Devin Williams.

Bring home this game for the rook!

But that would mean less time for Phil to talk about cannoli and if there was going to be traffic on the GW Bridge.

Didn’t expect us to win this one. I’ll take it. Cam had a great game…always fun when the young guys are able to kill it. Hopefully Austin Wells can turn his season around.

Return to New York Knicks
