The league has a 200 million dollar per year media rights deal for 11 years.. the league is still operating at a loss per season. There is only one star that sells out 20k seat arenas and when she is injured, they cant give a ticket away. There is only one star that the TV viewership goes up when she plays.

The league needs to invest that money on player development, on creating stars.

I feel like the players are trying to squeeze all the money they can get right now before its all gone when Caitlin retires. I have trouble believe they will get an increase after this TV deal expires, hell it may go down of its not managed right and they dont create more stars

I assume they want a percentage (~50%) of the revenue like the men get.

They're doing the smart thing, which is getting a better revenue share percentage rather than settling for a flat number. They are already underpaid, and with the growth trajectory the league is on, accepting such a deal would lock them out of that growth for years to come.

You also need to probably chill a bit on the insane takes. Maverick Carter has said the two biggest endorsement money makers for him recently behind LeBron were Aja Wilson and Juju (you probably don't know who that is since she's not dating Bam and not CC, but she's a women's NCAA college basketball player and she's really good).

That league isn't folding any time soon, with or without CC who can barely dribble, has never actually been the best player on her team, and hasn't even been able to stay on the floor this year. Its only so long that CC is going to be able to hide behind middle America's racism-fueled support for her before they realize she's kinda average and abandon her. Its her that needs to be worried, not the league. They have budding guard stars already in Citron, Bueckers, and soon Juju who actually have all around games and are also supremely marketable. That of course doesn't get into the many new and existing stars in the front court, including Angel (love her or hate her). I think they'll be fine, and it's the right approach for them to go after revenue sharing.

It sucks to ignore the news as much as possible on the last vacation before school starts back up, just to come back and see our government still is a huge joke. Because what is this, seriously?

https://www.npr.org/2025/08/16/nx-s1-5504196/trump-putin-summit-documents-left-behind

Papers with U.S. State Department markings, found Friday morning in the business center of an Alaskan hotel, revealed previously undisclosed and potentially sensitive details about the Aug. 15 meetings between President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir V. Putin in Anchorage.

Eight pages, that appear to have been produced by U.S. staff and left behind accidentally, shared precise locations and meeting times of the summit and phone numbers of U.S. government employees.

A joke and an embarrassment of an administration. This would be almost as bad as Trump literally rolling out the red carpet and having American military kneeling in front of a foreign adversary on American soil. Wait, he did that too.

I follow the league and know who all of those are, and Maverick is not a barometer of anything. Caitlin Clark is still the biggest star and biggest draw in that league. The aces may not even make it to the playoffs after gambling trading Plum and thinking Jewell Lloyd will take them to the next level.

Aja being the best player in the league, does not sell out 19k seats like Caitlin does.

You clearly have a bias against caitlin but she is the reason why the media took a chance on giving them that deal. Without her, they dont get 200 million per season, they dont get chartered flights.

The Aces are the hottest team in the league rn outside of the Lynx and on a 6 game winning streak (ironically, Jewell is a huge part of that). They will most definitely make the playoffs.

I'm not biased against CC. I routinely acknowledge what she's brought in regards to attention to the league. Its just 1) the lies about her being anything beyond an average player at this point in her career that get people talking. People should stick to propping up her marketing and stop putting her name where it doesn't belong as far as good players in the league. And 2) folks like yourself who are biased in acknowledging anybody else besides her in that increase in attention to women's basketball. CC was not getting any of the attention she gets now UNTIL Angel clowned her in the college finals. It just so happens that Angel is Black and CC is a white woman who was able to ignite both white rage and a lot of embittered black males (who ironically hate white male players but love CC...go figure) for her.

Its routine for MAGA types and black males like RGIII to try to quell legitimate rankings of CC with accusations of hate or bias, but I don't have any issue with her. I think it'd be cool for matches between her and the other young guards to look evenly matched for years to come. Right now, I think Paige is already better.

After 4 years of a mind addled Biden and his leaving classified documents in his garage. There is no such thing as people making smart decisions for any party affiliation. I recall going overseas and everyone I ran into asked about Biden's dementia.

What would you think if Trump brokers a peace deal in Ukraine and Hillary nominates him for the Nobel Peace Prize as she says?

We haven't had a decent president since Obama or Bush for that matter. Yet, people are sheep so they will repeat whatever media tells them to get angry about.

Donald Trump has managed to shift the narrative from defeating Russia in Ukraine to surrendering additional chunks of Ukraine and formalizing the permanent transfer of Crimea and other stolen territory to Russia.

And he wants a prize for it.

After 4 years of Biden, I must admit the entertainment at least is better, but I seriously doubt we would be better off under another 4 years of Biden. I would have chosen Carrot Top over Biden or Harris. I think the American Public agrees.

I cannot stand Trump nor Biden, thus it is a crapshoot to me. Regardless, I do not root for people to fail regardless whomever is president. Those that do must take mass media to heart. I rooted for success under Biden and hoped he could fix Ukraine, the Economy or Illegal Immigration, but he didn't. I think the people chose a different path regardless of the buffoon in charge as the path the States were headed was not looking good.

It is just too bad that both parties take their politics to the extreme left or right because a true moderate could win big in elections over having to take the good and the bad like we always have to.

I never heard Trump say Russia must be defeated, though I have not heard every sentence Trump has said so I could be wrong. What I have heard from him is there must be peace. Trump did say he could stop the Russia-Ukraine war within 1 week of taking office, something I don’t think was hyperbole on his part. I think he severely underestimated how hard it would be to bring peace. However, his goal as far as I understand has always been peace: stop the killing and make a deal. This continues to be the case.

What even is moderate these days? I am not seeing either party condemn political violence or those who seek to “other” people. I used to think the Republicans were the more moderate side, but X has really exposed a lot of very bad ideas that are festering within the party that leadership really isn’t distancing itself from. At least the Dems have people in their own party condeming some from their own side. Ritchie Torres regularly speak out against the DSA for example. However, people like him are few and far between. There’s too much foreign influence in our political realm, much of which is based on the strategy of divide and conquer. Being a moderate has often become a political liability.

Well then it can be said that after Bush and Obama, there has been a succession of bad presidents. It just couldn't get much worse than where we were heading under Biden. He was nothing like the Biden of 15 years ago.

Lol. The Righties said Biden was the current president during the last 4 year fiasco. He had to be one of the worst we have had thus far and I had hope for Biden. Now, we are on the next 4 year fiasco of harmful presidents. Nothing really has changed yet. Will see if it does or does not. But, we were headed on a fast track to financial disaster that will be hard for any president to get out of now. Hope this helps.

The Biden years were intentionally bad. Destroy America bad. Trump aint the tyrant many claim he is, but there are people riding his coattails that are dangerous. I heard an interesting podcast today about how the woke left used race and other boxes on the DEI chart to push for segmented societies and bring stigma to western ideology. As a reaction to this, the opposite is appearing on the right where “woke” racial supremacy groups are becoming more common as well. Like I said previously, the people in power on the right are refusing to condemn their own and it’s terrifying, even with the GOP pushing many policies I agree with. Whereas the left has some political elements condemning the bull on their side, but the majority of the party seems to be taken over by those who want to double down on terrible policies.

I don’t have a solution to this rising problem. I just am spreading awareness of it.

Ukraine having to give up land for the end of the war is not a peace deal. That is not democracy either. Thats just the start of a full takeover.

Russia wants Ukraine because they dont want a country affiliated with NATO near their border.

Regardless, Putin played the US like a fiddle. He will continue his war in Ukraine.

He flirted with Trump, telling him things he wants to hear. Oh we wouodnt have gone to Ukraine if you were president.. yea… right……

Whats this dumb outrage over cracker barrel..

I never been to that restaurant in my life… whats the significance of the logo that got people so upset..

You tell me that they replaced animal meat with lab created “protein”, and that is something to be outraged about.. a caricature of a man sitting next to a barrel is what has maga outraged, even causing the stock to plummet?

We are the country of complainers..
