All of this to play a beta? For me, fine, I can do it. But a general novice when it comes to PC has a real chance of ****ing up their computer doing this. Kind of ridiculous IMO. Even if its to prevent cheating.
I ultimately did it and it's so nice to have a throwback multiplayer shooter. I'm already sad knowing the beta is temporarily ending soon. I'm not a particularly good shooter anymore; I just can't handle the speed and recoil control of the younger player base, but I'm having an absolute ball reviving people, shooting planes and choppers down, etc.

Finally giving Ninja Gaiden II Black a go and man, just a wonderful power-trip action game. Looks and plays beautifully. Definitely not as difficult as the original Ninja Gaiden or NG Black, but that also might be 15 years of Soulslike experience too. This has only taken me a few days. I'm looking forward to finishing this first go, moving onto NG+ and doing some Challenge Runs.

PS Plus has been a pleasant surprise recently with them adding games that are actually good. Unicorn Overlord dropped last night and I put in over two hours which almost never happens for me these days.

I'm excited to check out Unicorn Overlord! Hopefully it's available for awhile, because rest of the year is stacked with stuff I want to play.

Next POE2 season looks really great. They're addressing a lot, and I'm honestly surprised how much stuff they packed into it. Excited for next week.

I never gave Hollow Knight a real look before, but with Silk Song in the news this week I'm giving it a shot. After I finished Ninja Gaiden II Black I went back to some stuff I liked but hadn't played in a while and quickly got bored. I don't know how long I'll stick with HK, though. Just looking at upcoming games I see

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater (8/28)
Lost Soul Aside (8/29)
Hell is Us (9/4)
Borderlands 4 (9/12)
Silent Hill f (9/25)
Final Fantasy Tactics: The Ivalice Chronicles (9/30)
Ghost of Yōtei (10/2)
Absolum (10/9)
Ninja Gaiden 4 (10/21)
The Outer Worlds (10/29)
Terminator 2D: No Fate (10/31)

I know I'm gonna play the hell out of most of those.

Unicorn overlord is the sequel that Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen never got
Amos Barshad: "So you got a job, a place to live, a license? What’s left?"

Giannis: “Nothing. Just get a ring now.”

While I see your point here, Ogre Battle 64 is incredible and does not deserve this slander!

I'm actually excited for Battlefield 6. From what I've seen it looks great.

I've kind of sworn off buying games on release day since it seems like a lot of them release with too many bugs, but Borderlands is probably a day 1 buy for me. Those are some of my favorite games ever.

It or Ninja Gaiden are the two I'm looking forwards to most. Even with the issues I had with Borderlands 3 I still had a great time, max leveled every character, and did all the DLC.

Gameplay looks great.

Oh yeah, that looks awesome. Definitely going to pour too many hours into this one.

The only games I can seem to get into these days are those indie puzzle games like the Witness, What Remains of Edith Finch, Superliminial, and now Blue Prince. Tried GOW: Ragnarok, tried the Jedi Fallen Order game, and my interest level tanks quickly. I feel old. Gonna try Cyberpunk and see how that goes.

Open world games have gotten really stale. Would so much rather have a streamlined 15 hour on-rails experience than a 60 hour "check every nook and cranny for maybe a random sidequest but probably just more dudes and crafting materials" in most cases.
