Arsenal have entered negotiations with Crystal Palace on an $80 million transfer for Eberechi Eze. Tottenham Hotspur had been progressing with Palace, but Eze prefer a move to Arsenal.
Eze grew up as a fan of Arsenal and played in the club\'s academy.
Despite speculation over his future, Eze started for Oliver Glasner’s side in the Community Shield win over Liverpool and Sunday’s Premier League opener against Chelsea.
Arsenal have already added attacking players to their squad with Vikor Gyorkes and Noni Madueke, but an injury to Kai Havertz has them reentering the transfer market. Arsenal was previously interested in Eze, but that pursuit was predicated on Ethan Nwaneri\'s contract talks.
Eze could allow Mikel Merino and Leandro Trossard to fill in at central forward.
Eze joined Palace from Queens Park Rangers in 2020 for $23 million.
