Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.6
We're not in the same place we were before, though. We have Davion Mitchell, Norm Powell, and Andrew Wiggins, all with a full training camp. If you don't think adding motivated players with talent to the roster is different than suffering through the Jimmy nonsense of last year, along with another year of development from Ware and Jovic, I don't know what to tell you.
We're not world beaters, not we'll win more than 37 games this year, and we'll build on our asset pool. I don't see anything wrong with that...

Nothing is wrong with it as long as there’s a plan. Let’s see how the season goes and if we’re still in the same place by the end of next offseason then you can put in your sig “Heatfanlifer was right” you have my blessings. If the Heat are on a solid footing and an up and coming team, then I will put on my sig that I am not always right and not care cuz the team will be fun to watch again.

I think fans need a reality check on the size of Championship windows. With the new CBA, championship windows are pretty much 3 years before the team blows it up because of the dreaded repeater tax. No team wants to pay it unless the team legitimately has a great chance to win it.

Yeah I been talking about this for years when Pat Riley said he wanted Orcas and not whales 6 years ago. The feedback from the realgm crowd was Orcas are whales. Which ok fine you got me there cuz I got a C in Zoology 101. But my other quote is still spot on.
Sure, for a couple of seasons an nba owner will pay the price, but given how punishing the luxury tax has become, an NBA team can only lose out on so many 10’s of millions of $$ before they throw in the towel.

This is going to sound like trolling but it's not. I genuinely hope part of Aja and Bam being together involves Aja working with him on his game. Even if playfully. If he can pick up just half of her offensive talent he'd actually be the untouchable asset many of you already see him as.

Saudades.

We won 37 games last season with Jimmy quitting on the team and Rozier getting heavy minutes. We're beating that easy in the post achilles Eastern conference. Hell, Rozier not playing alone wins us 5 more games.

Yet another example of poor decision making by the Heat when they got this guy.
Hindsight is 20/20 on this one. We all loved the trade and most NBA fans at the time agreed that Miami got an absolute steal.
Just didn't work out.
I'll keep pounding that drum. It was widely seen as a good move by most people to trade away a pick and an old checked out Lowry for a 20 pts per game guard. Forums all over, reddit, ESPN, hell even my fantasy league full of Heat haters thought it was a good trade. No one thought Rozier would suddenly forget how to play basketball. Going from a 20+ ptg and 4-6 asts even on a bad team to literally one of the worst players in the league in an off-season while still in your prime is CRAZY. So crazy that the only explanation anyone has is either that non catastrophic neck injury broke something in him, or he's sandbagging for gambling.

The trouble is that right Off the bat... Nobody in the Front office could see that Terry Rozier was just a Hudlum, a player

Exactly. If the talking point is that nobody on the realgm message boards could see Rozier as a bum, the counter point is we **** post on a basketball forum. We aren’t paid to do the heavy research most companies would do before making a multimillion $ transaction. The Heat front office should have known what they were getting into, but they didn’t. Heat management is on equal footing as a bunch of embarassing **** posters on realgm.

Aja is better than Bam, if they played each other she’d win 9 times out of 10 at minimum.

The word is “hoodlum” lol and thats not the word I would use to describe Terry.
Unfortunately we got a lemon. Its easy to sit here in hindsight and say “well the team should have done research” but this is just the reality of the NBA - you dont hit on every transaction. We were pg desperate after the guy Jimmy pounded the table for turned out to be a dud. Rozier was one of two names on the market at the position, and it was a move that was lauded in real time by the majority of this fanbase. Rozier was to be our best scoring guard since Wade. It just didnt work out.

He’s going to take a big leap this year.

For a long time it gave me nightmares, witnessing an injustice like that. It’s a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be.I can still hear them taunting him, Silly Rabbit tricks are for kids.I mean why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?

Not to make this into a Bam vs Herro conversation, but if getting the right WNBA player (to enhance basketball skills) as your significant other, who would be the best option for Herro?

Don’t worry that came across like trolling to me as well. Yes I’m sure Bam could learn a lot from someone who would get their ass busted by a high school men’s team. The wnba is and will always be a joke of a league subsidized off the backs of the NBA, sorry not sorry.

Re: 2025 Offseason Thread Vol.6
In Roziers first season with us, he played in a funk or injured the first 10 games, had 4 games off, then came back to finish the season in the last 21 games shooting .449 fg, .420 3pt (on 2.6 makes per game), .889 ft, 18.2 ppg, 4 rpg, 4.2 apg, 1.1 spg,1.4 topg. I think it was after that he had his neck injury and was bad in the playoffs. He hasn't been the same since whether it's lingering injury or the gambling probe.
But I will admit in those 21 games, I was like - ok, I see why we got this guy. It was brief but validating.
