Not yet, my sarcasm was based on the rumor.

Read on Twitter

Jon K is staking his reputation on this. Strange.

That seems extreme. If it doesn't happen, his rep won't take even a slight hit.

He's flat out guaranteeing it. His rep should take a hit if it doesn't happen.

No he's not. He's stating what he thinks is going to happen.

Did all the people that said Durant was going to be a Timberwolf have their reputations ruined?

Literally no one will care if it doesn't happen. Jon will get zero blowback - as it should be.

We disagree. He's stating it as if it is fact. Read it again. He doesn't say he thinks it's going to happen. He says it is going to happen.

Opinion is implied.

He's not breaking news.

I will actually push back on this a little, given what he said yesterday on his podcast.

"One thing we reported at The Athletic late last week that has been solidified, they have decided on Bones Hyland as the fourth guard in that PG/combo rotation with Dillingham, Conley and DiVincenzo.....ultimately, they came to the conclusion that with where they're at, with what Bones brings, with hat they want from that group, and with what they want financially, Bones Hyland is going to be the guy. It may not be official for some time, but Bones Hyland is going to be the face back in that PG/combo contingent over some of the more established names we've seen reported."

Thank you. That solidifies my statement that he is calling it fact. If it's a feather in his cap for getting it correct it's a black mark on him for getting it wrong. He seems absolutely certain so he must have some strong evidence.

I don't think it is. He's reporting it like it's a flat out no chance of any other result fact. He'll probably prove correct, but if he's not my opinion of Jon K will drop a bit.

Then your opinion of all sports journalists should be in the toilet. They ALL get stuff wrong that they are sure is going to happen.

If you don't put it out there, you end up chasing.

It's a pet peeve of mine. It's like people saying that they KNOW something that they are wrong about or at least can't know for sure. To me if you say you know something then it has to be an impossibility to be wrong about it. Don't report something that you believe is true as if it is a fact. Maybe that's OK with you, but it's troublesome to me. If people would say they believe or think something more often than they say they KNOW something I'd respect them much more.

Then there would be no journalism of any kind because no one can possibly know anything received secondhanded with 100% certainty.

Than don't act like you KNOW it. Say trusted sources have indicated that the Wolves will sign Bones Hyland.

They usually do.

However, all indications are that Bones Hyland is the front-runner to get that final spot, league sources said.

That quote is totally cool. They could even say it stronger than that and I'd be fine with it.

That was how Krawczynski first reported it.

And that as I said is cool. I read these other quotes later that I didn't think are cool.

That's good b/c I wanna get a longer look at Zyon Pullin. He's got all the general attributes that the org seems to value. He's got good size, a low turnover player, and good shooting fundamentals. It's possible he's a late bloomer that just needs extra time to adjust to NBA level speed and athleticism, because he wasn't as consistent shooting the ball in g league and summer league as he was at Florida. But his theoretical skillset is a better fit than guys like Nix and Amari Bailey.
