With the addition of Jaylen Clark, the offseason work for the Toronto Raptors is done.

I feel like we’ve managed to markedly improve the defense from last season.

Offensively, we should see some internal improvements via sim boosts for Amen Thompson and Shaedon Sharpe. 3pt shooting may take a dip from last season but I’m confident we’ll have enough scoring in the sim to win. With that said, I do not expect this iteration of the team to win this season’s Bubble Tourney again.

Lastly, I really like where we stand financially going forward. We are well-positioned to improve the team opportunistically, should the need arise.

As a Knick last year...

Opponents are shooting just 33 percent on Sims within 6 feet of the rim, according to NBA.com. That easily made Sims the NBA’s top paint defender among players who’ve logged at least 11 games heading into Monday.

Nobody else was close.

By contrast, opponents are shooting 73.2 percent within 6 feet of the rim on starting center Karl-Anthony Towns, according to NBA.com. That’s among the worst in the league and quite a difference from Sims, who doesn’t get many rejections (1.2 per 36 minutes) but is forcing shooters to fumble two-thirds of their opportunities.

I'll take a bet on this kid.
