I am not going to show my work but I have the team as currently constructed with no Tatum getting 48 wins+/- 5.5

Can't really go by that, though. I mean, a big reason why the WS/48 for guys like Pritchard, Queta, Hauser and White was as high as it was, iot because such a large % of their mins were playing with Tatum/Horford/Kornet/KP/Jrue..

You replace that with Hugo/Walsh/Garza/Boucher/Simons and those numbers plummet.
1/11/24 The birth of a new Hal. From now on being less combative, avoiding confrontation - like Switzerland :)

Etienne Catalan:

Anfernee Simons will wear No. 4 for the Celtics. Number last worn by Jrue Holiday in 2025.

I am using projections, not last seasons. And made adjustments. I can absolutely go by that and am going by that.
I concede it’s not a perfect system, but it matches up with my “eye test” projection so I am sticking with it.

That Jersey alone will make him a better than average POA defender.

Or make him a defender like Isaiah Thomas.

IT offense, Holiday D. The Jersey only carries forward the good.

Okay, I think I might even need a break from talking about Simons. These next 2 months need to hurry up. Or at least get me to football season. For now, let me switch it up. Favorite lineups to check out this season?

In no particular order:

1) PP-DW-JB-JM-CB This lineup should turn games against smaller opponents into track meets. So long as they gang-rebound on defense I love the idea of PP and White making decisions on the break and getting the ball to finishers

2) PP-DW-JB-CB-LG Feel like this might be a good halfcourt group. You can run hi-post into DHO with either Boucher or Garza who can finish in the paint against a switch. You got shooters to space and JB and either big will cut off post entry

3) DW-AS-SH-JB-LG Lot of shooting with this 5-some spreading the floor. JB and Simons are gonna make mincemeat of defenses with the kind of spacing they're gonna have here. Garza spaces, grabs boards and finishes on the PnR. 5-out offense spreads teams super thin.

4) PP-BS-HG-JM-LG The "all young guys with something to prove" lineup.

5) DW/PP-JB-JM-CB-NQ This five has a TON of length, size, athleticism, and defense. The kind of switchy group with the length to disrupt DHOs on the perimeter and deter drives at the rim as well. Probably best as a transition group but has JUST enough shooting to make you pay if you leave someone open. But they are crashing those O-boards HARD!
and that's "MR. Irrelevant" to you!!
