The team looks decent when they are hitting their shots, though even then they are playing above than what they are capable of.

Nah, this is a much worse team than the ones he had until now, Cancar and Tobey were much better than anything on this team, and the rest of the supporting cast was much younger, Zoran, Blazic, Muric and Prepelic were younger.
They peaked in Tokyo where they were one blocked layup away from the Finals, and been downhill since, Luka tanked their chances in the last Eurobasket with his temper tantrum against Poland, the team was OK but not good in 23 world cup and they didn't make it out of qualifications last year for Paris against a team they easily handled before in Croatia.

I wasn't comparing them to any team of the past, I'm just saying in general of this year's Eurobasket.

He also looks fresh. When considering his best season, he played for Slovenia. He needs to find some rhythm to begin. Last season, Slovenia was eliminated early during the Olympic qualifying, and he was injured. Now he looks great and is still improving his game shape, as the Lakers' assistant coach, St. Jean mentioned, who is traveling with him for Eurobasket.

Watching Greece/Latvia and I'm already digging the Sloukas/Mitoglou/Samodurov inclusion. Sloukas is infinitely a better lead guard than Calathes next to Giannis.

I was only following boxscores, but Migoglu seemed like Greece bext player in these prep games. Also yeah. Calathes, Giannis fit was always bad, a lot of Greek players were bad shooters during Giannis era, just not a good fit. Is Samodurov actually good, can he make the team? Sloukas is one of the best European guards today, we really do not have many good ones.

Mitoglou is a hustler and a big who can shoot, but he's known to be a so-so rebounder and can be pushed around. But, yes, he also looks sharp and fits well next to Giannis. This is certainly the best spacing he's had in these last 10 years playing with the NT.

Samodurov looks decent and at least knows where to be. The Sloukas/Dorsey back-court provides great spacing for Giannis (along with Mitoglou). If nothing else, we look like a fun team that can at least cause problems as Spanoulis will have them hustling defensively.

Giannis with a casual 18-7-3 in like 10 minutes. Midrange looks for real as he drilled them.

Lithuania just lost their first game. Turkey by 3. Lithuania had 1 point lead and the ball with 15 seconds to go, and Turkey had only two team fouls. Lithuania inbounded first time, Sengun fouls Jonas, inbounds second time, Sengun fouls Jonas, inbounds the third time, Jokubaitis turns the ball over when inbounding, Turkey runs and takes the lead. Lithuania still has 9 seconds, but gives the ball to Sirvydis, who is not a ball handler, as we can clearly see as he loses the ball when dibbling to his weak hand, Turkey runs and dunks at the buzzer, Turkey by 3. Couldn't watch the first half, Turkey lead the whole second half, Lithuania made huge resurgence in the forth and it looked like they will take the game, but that turnover by Jokubaitis. Both Rokas and Sirvydis made two final turnovers, but overall both had great games, they pulled their team in the forth. Larkin had a pretty awful game, but Sengun was huge.

Big hit to Bosnia, their (probably) best player, Dzanan Musa is out of Eurobasket.

With the way Lauri is playing, I feel Finland could easily take group B. Germany and then Lithuania are two favorites in a group, but I do not want to face Finnisher.

Off topic, but team USA, made out of complete random players who play in Europe, will also play friendly today vs Dominica republic. Not sure if KAT is playing, but I imagine not.
Can't find the box score yet, but Finland is running out Poland right now, as I said, Finland looks good.

Slovenia is bad this year, but they aren't as bad as the Serbs are making them look, the Serbs look a tier above everyone this year.

Anyone who saw the Georgia game give comment or replays on how Goga did?

He looked bloated. Maybe he's refilling the glycogen storage? taking too much creatine? :dontknow:

Diaz couldn't recover so the 2 kids will be the PGs for Spain

Diaz is only good for defense anyway.

UcanUwill wrote:France announced final 12. Funny thing, was it last week they cut Hornets center Debate, but days later Poirier got injured and he wont be able to play, so France called Diabate again, but he said - no, I am good...

France roster

C: Alexandre Sarr, Mouhammadou Jaiteh
PF: Guerschon Yabusele, Jaylen Hoard
SF: Zaccharie Risacher, Bilal Coulibaly, Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot
SG: Elie Okobo, Isaia Cordinier
PG: Theo Maledon, Sylvain Francisco, Matthew Strazel

Man, France centers : Victor, Rudy, Lessort, Poirier, Fall.but Mouhammadou Jaiteh is going to Eurobasket.

Not a fan of this very small back-court, defense will be a challenge.
Okobo is a fav of the coach and had a wildcard, with lots of usage during the prep game but he was pretty bad and very unidimensional.
In NT i was a huge fan of Ntilikina who is a nice team piece when enough scoring is around him, lots of hockey assists, great defense, can knock a few 3's occasionaly. looks like he never was in coach plans but it could make sense without fournier's and wemby's scoring here.

Team looks pretty shaky, but also very young so it's expected
