We just dumped Highsmith to get below the tax. Now you want us to negate that for Simons? Why? Doesn't he do what Herro and Powell do, but worse? Is he going to play in front of Mitchell? So, we're paying the tax for a 4th guard?

Miami owes something here and I'm not sure they pay it given they already have Herro and Powell playing the role of a scoring-only SG

only way this makes sense to me is if Boston gets like a couple 2nds, and just stretches Rozier's contract in a last resort effort to completely duck the tax.

Thought Miami was competing this year not tanking my mistake because the hero Powell reasoning makes sense I guess but why get Powell when you have hero n rozier and wouldn't it be different because Simon is more pg than Powell or rozier?

Adding simons would have little impact to winning, it might actually lead to more losing. Waay too much overlap of scoring guards who cant defend while also looking to get paid and get 30 minutes a night. Only person missing from that group would be monk :).

Rozier is an end of the bench salary at this point.

Jovic is probably more of a pg than any of the guards on the heat roster.

We're not planning on using Rozier. Dude has been a complete bust here. We got Powell because he's good and efficient. I don't see Anfernee Simons as a difference maker with those two ahead of him, and with those two ahead of him, I can't see him supplanting Off Night in the rotation, either. He doesn't fill a need, and he doesn't make us a contender. I see the value in trading Rozier for a useful player, but that player would have to fill a need, especially if we're triggering the repeater tax...

Hell no from Boston.
They’d rather ride with Simons and Tillman.
Boston would go back over the Apron to fill the roster spot so what’s the point?
Downgrade in on court availability to save a few million? Simons might have a future in Boston. Rozier does not. It makes no sense.

Nobody would trade for Terry Rozier, aside from, you know, Pat Riley.
